Rattles from Lift Back

sorry missed that message at 10am.. but okay so foam all over that.. hmm.. this portion down by the right taillight area.. so did you open up the taillight access panel? or is this down in the spare tire area? and yes i agree there should've been some sort of rubber or foam damper in the glass/plastic interfacing area.. i'm thinking that foam tape (like weather stripping foam) would help if that is ultimately the noise.. weird how i've found noises that appear to come from one place are actually in another.. like a ventriloquist.. in other cars i've had..
anyway i'm going to take a look in that area on mine.. see if i can see what you're describing..
i haven't had any noises yet, but eventually it might happen, be good to figure it out now and be proactive..

I tried another suggestion from another post, and it worked like a charm, so it might be worth a try. Buy 1/4x1/2 inch black foam adhesive weatherstripping tape. Place the tape over the rubber bumpers to the left and right of the trunk where the hatch rests. It creates upward force while the hatch is closed. It fixed my rattle instantly.

I just figured out what mine was this weekend, a metal strip which is vibrating against the glass of the rear moonroof. The strip runs from one side of the roof to the other on the side of the roof towards the rear of the car. If you check it out you'll see a little gap between the metal and the glass, when you go over bumps the metal hits the glass. What you need to do is take something like strips of cloth (I used an old shirt) and stuff them in there to prevent the metal from hitting the glass. Problem solved. If you still hear a rattle, that could be the source.
