Default Removing Paint

So, I'm driving down the highway the other day & the truck in front of me has obviously been on a painting job. I can say this because he splattered green paint drops across the front of my xb. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can remove the paint without damaging the car? I've already tried to chip a piece off & succeeded in taking the car's paint along with it - not my first choice for removal. Thanks!

If the paint is on there to the point of damaging your paint during removal it must be pretty "hot" stuff.

I would take it to a detail shop and let the pros handle it.

if clay doesnt remove it i would take it to a COMPLETE detail shop that not only washes and waxes cars but does wetsanding and polishing also.

they should be able to give it a light wetsand and a nice polish and make it look as if it was never there.

Hmm... I have 2 scratches... One on my Hatch and on the top of my car...

What would you think an estimate would be for re-touching that. I'm bad at using those paint pens and what not...

I was thinking of sanding it... then painting it.. but thats just gonna make it worse.

We suggest using the clay bar as well. It safely removes all types of contaminants including paint over spray, bugs, tar, tree sap and water spots.

In fact, we have a $10.50 delivered clay bar special on the Sponsored Specials forum of this site.

I'd have to agree that a clay bar system should work. If you're using the normal Meguiar's brand clay bar and it doesn't seem to work...you should try the proffesiona; brand aggresive clay bar that they make...it's about $20 direct from the site...

A full detail for a tC is probably somewhere around $120 more or less...
