Use dishwashing liquid like Dawn when you wash it, it'll cut the wax. Only use that when you want to strip the wax, otherwise use car wash soap.

Surely just one wash with dishwashing liquid won't remove all the wax?? When I put some vinyls on I stripped the wax with PrepSol. It really worked great and removed all the wax quickly.

Check your local auto parts store. They should have wax removers.

There's an easier and defiently beter way to remove the wax. Dupli-Color makes a product called Prep-Wipe that is perfect for touch up repairs to paint. It's a small paper type towel that has a paint safe solution on it that will remove wax/oil/grease etc without hurting the paint. I even used it the other day to clean the rear bumper area of my new xb before installing the factory protective cover. I think I paid about $1.99 for it and it can be used more than once. Not sure what auto part stores are near you but it's carried at Auto Zone/Kragen/Walmart/Checer etc. You can go to Dupli-Color's website to read about it here:

I'm sorry, I think I missed the part where ScratchX says you need to remove the
wax in order to use it:

Guaranteed to be the most effective way to remove fine scratches and swirls from automotive paint by hand, ScratchX removes light surface contaminants, oxidation and blemishes while it enhances paint color and clarity. ScratchX is not a "cover up" and will not cause additional scratches to your paint surface. For best results, apply ScratchX with an Even-Coat Applicator and remove any excess product with a Supreme Shine Microfiber or Ultra Plush Super Terry.
