Default Scion racing seat....bolted to floor

hey guys i just put a deposit down on a 2005 super white tc and it should be here in a week ....now im not sure where to have posted this ...hopefully u all dont get to ____ered at me...im a big guy 6foot and some chub in the stomach :D now i sat in it and it was a lil tight..headroom was OK what i was wondering was if i put in a racing seat and bolted it to the floor ...would that work? i know this would give me much more room but im worried theres a cross beam on the floor pan where id bolt the seat at ...also going to go with an after market steering wheel and how would i go about getting a hub for it to fit my car ..are their universal hubs? any info would be greatly appreciated -- mike

any steering wheel adaptor for a Toyota will work.

tx for answering that question...now bout the seat ...i need to know if it is possible to bolt it to the floor with no brackets ive done this in my 1993 civic si with no probs..just hoping i have no probs here with this car :?

hmmm, 78 views, three replies. Maybe no one knows because the tC just came out? Maybe you'll be the first one to do it to a tC so you'll have to let use know from your experience? Then again what do I know, I just push a box. [/shrug]

well i gotta have it done hopefully theres no probs and ill post up the info for anyone that wants to bolt a seat to the floor lol

I too am a big guy at 6'3" 230#. I have installed aftermarket seats in one of my BMWs. It's not a real big deal but you need to weld reenforcement plates to the floor or you may pull the seat loose in an accident. Seat belts/air bags don't work if your moving around the cabin in your seat!! Just using large washers is not enough to do it correctly.
