Default Single disk CD player will not eject

Single disk CD player will not eject

Ive been having this problem off and on. Some days it works good others it acts up.
It seems like the CD gets stuck when ejecting and after a few seconds it finally ejects.
Also when playing CDs you can hear a soft ticking noise
Im going to bring it in to the dealer, but was wondering if this has come up with anyone else.

yes i get the same problem as well on the single disk in my xA. I also hear the ticking noise every now and then when its on fm as well. I want to take it into the dealer as well but my only problem is that I might have to duplicate the problem and since it happens spontaneously thats not very easy to duplicate

you're definitely not alone on this one.. mine was making that ticking noise when playing a cd.. it means the dc motor that spins the cd is dying.. have had computer cd-rom's that did this before too and they died quickly after that ticking..

I also have contacted my dealer, since my cd player would be playing, and all of a sudden no audio.. track and time would disappear from the display. load times for cd's is about 20 seconds.. way too long..

so they have ordered another radio and is putting it in soon.. but you're not alone.. seems a bad batch got out there (of radios)..

Mine does the same thing plus it skips sometimes for no reason. I believe there is a TSB on the skipping issue. I am just too lazy to take it to the dealer.

i don't hear a ticking, but i do get error 4 and error 3 alot... i have to shut the car off and turn it back on to get rid of the error message. usually happens when changing discs.... oh this is on a 6disc... should be the same deal though.

UPDATE..

I just got back from the dealer.. they installed a new radio.. this one actually sounds "brighter" with more treble than the last one.. both on cd and radio.. the other radio sounded muffled.. and before people ask.. yes I switched it over to xA and xB mode from the muffled tC mode.. so all things being equal.. the new one sounds better.. almost like it has more wattage.. probably the old radios amplifier section was bad too.. the new one actually loads quicker.. and sounds like it has more midrange.. definitely was something wrong with the other one..

one dealer gave me a hassle with it.. so went to a 2nd dealer.. no problem in ordering it and covering it under warranty..

When I had my 6-Disc HU, it did the same thing, then it finally gave out on me and just wouldn't play or eject any cd's. I tried everything to fix it, but with no luck, I ended up taking it to the dealer after that and they replaced it with a brand new one, which I turned around and sold for $225... :D

yeah definitely get the dealer to replace your headunit.. i did and it's been fine ever since.. a lot of people will defend pioneer, but this is exactly why I have never bought a pioneer.. to me the quality just isn't there.. When I have the $$$ I'd like to put in an alpine.. but that requires money, which i don't have.. lol..

let us know how it goes at the dealer with the new headunit.. hey i have a thought.. wouldn't you get a new '06 headunit if they don't have any '05's?? the 06 will work with the '05.. that would be great, then you could get the headunit with the volume ****..

Here is a question....if we have problems with our 05 tC headunits...and if they stopped making the 05 head units will they replace it with the 06 one?

I noticed mine just yesterday made a funny noise while ejecting the cd...i was like WTF was that! i said OH WELL and the cd started to play HA!

Also anyone else's cd player take awhile to read an MP3 cd? Mine will sit there and think about it..it says something then says DISK SEEK it takes around 40 seconds to actually start playing...it's like COME ON ALREADY! is that beacuse it's a burned cd?

Quoting myself because my damn stereo is doing the same damn thing AGAIN! I know they are gonna say "i usually does that with burned cd's", but it also does it with regular ones and plus this cd player is also an mp3 player so it's supposed to be compatible with burned cd's. The deck i have is just the bottom of the line so when and if they change it out again I'm going to ask them for their top of the line model or an after market model at no cost to me.
