Default spilled a little gasoline on my car...

Ok, so I was attempting to pump gas, took the nozzle out of the machine, and stupidly didn't look at where I was pointing it. Looks like there was a good amount of gas left from the previous pump... anyways I spilled some over my driver's side rear panel and it then proceeded to fall a little on my tire and wheel...

At any rate I never got that pump to work so I was out of there in probably about 45 seconds. It was raining all the way home. Once I got home I hosed that area down thoroughly.

Is it a big deal? I figured that at the most it probably took off the wax... although it doesn't really seem like it. At any rate I think I'll probably be rewaxing sooner than I was thinking.

Big deal or no?

I has happened to me. Most people would forget about it. I would wash the paint and wheel with a car wash soap, the rewax the paint and put more rubber dressing on the tire.

Yep, like vintage42 wrote, it is no big deal. Clean & wax the area, but imho, skip the tire dressing.

Just point the pump nozzle up when moving it away from the car, that will prevent any drips.

Yep, pretty much the same procedure as fueling the bikes.

I keep a supply of things in the trunk like quick-detailer, window cleaner, etc. and microfiber towels.
I use them to immediately remove bird crap and gas spills. It will save your paint, and if you live where it's hot and sunny, it's a must.
Cheap insurance.
