Spring Cleaning Time!!

Spring Cleaning Time!!
OK so my baby finally made it through its 1st Chicago winter. Now that it looks like the worst is over, I've decided to get to work on making it look showroom new again. I've noticed several scratches and chips in my look-at-it-too-hard-and-it-will-scratch finish, so after much searching and research I've decided to dive into some amateur scratch repair in addition to my usual regimen of maintenance. Just want to make sure I have the order right:
1) Wash
2) Fix scratches
3) Let sit 3-4 days
4) Wash
5) Clay bar
6) Wash
7) Wax
Does this sound like the correct order to do everything in? And also, is it okay if my touched-up areas get wet during the days following their application?

Please allow me to help
Step 1- Rinse with water real good everywhere first. - To remove all the dirt and such from the surface
Wash - First Wash with Car Shampoo PH 7
Fix Scrathes- Repair as needed
Clay- To remove embedded brake dust and fallout that penetrates the clear coat or paint as well as over spray.
Wash - Final good wash
Pre Wax - To remove road grime, light oxidization and tar.
Wax- Final Protection
We have use that system and it works great, when needed we do the swirl remover with the porter cable.
I hope that helps
