Swirl marks
so i went to a detail/wash place the other day and got car cleaned...made sure it was touchless.... The sign said "so it doesnt cause scratches or is not harmfull to paint"
so i was cool with it...
then so they pull TC through and im payin and talkin to girl @ front desk.
I walk outside and they are drying my car with some nasty regular towels they prob used and washed at least 40 times! WTF? why would anybody have signs for no damage to paint sand then use towels instead of micro fiber??
needless to say i have swirl marks now...
what will fix this? meguirs scrtch x? HEEELP PLEASE!

Putting wax over swirl marks does not get rid of them.
I stripped my car, used the Meguiar's Scratch-X, then put a coat of Meguiar's wax over top. Got rid of some of my swirl marks, but not good enough to get them all. I'm thinking about wet sanding.

Check out this website for some information on this subject.

Some of this stuff may seem over whelming at first but its worth it weight in gold to learn. Swirl marks are very easy to fix with the right products. If you plain on keeping your ride swirl free for it's life I would say investing in a Porter Cable 7424 Polisher and some pad's for it would be a great idea. http://www.autopia-carcare.com/inf-pc7424.html
Check out the site and forums, so much to learn about on there. Have fun and don’t stress, our clear coat likes to get swirls, my IIP is a pain.

I found this on Meguiars forum. I have been searching to resolve the same problem and this looks like the way to go.
They're doing some update to their site so hope fully the pictures will be back up by tomorrow.

I use Meguiars Deep Crystal #1 Paint Cleaner or Meguiars Fine Cut Polish for deeper scratches, then I follow up with Depp Crystal #2 Polish, then Meguiars NXT Tech Wax for the initial wax coat and finish up with Meguiars Hi Tech Yellow Wax (one of the best waxes ever IMHO shoudl take those swirls out nicely and last a while
