how long have you had the car, did you buy it new and what year is it? usually you there's no need to wax it within the 1st year. I bought my 05 tC in June 2005. I waxed it at the beginning of the year. About 2.5yrs into owning it. Never thought it was needed since it still shined like the day i bought it and the paint never felt rough. I clayed it and waxed it, pretty amazing results!

Clay bar ASAP, regardless. Any number of contaminants could find its way onto the paint between the factory and final delivery.

Factory clear coats are baked onto the car so you don't need to worry about curing. However, sometimes the car might have been damaged somewhere and the dealership may have a panel reshot with paint. If that happened then you need to wait around 6 weeks before you wax.

If the paint is 100% from the factory you can wax whenever you're ready.

Waxing actually has little effect on the car's shine. Generally, a clean car will be 90% as shiny as it can get and waxing the car will only change the nature of the shine (like give it "depth" or "wetness.") The main use for a wax is to give the paint an alternative shine and to protect the clear coat. The clear coat's job is to protect the color coat from the sun but the the clear coat needs some environmental protection as well.
