Default Ventilation deodorizing

My A/C is smelling funky lately. I'm about to spray Lysol disinfectant in the vents.

Would anybody recommend doing so with Lysol or is there an over the counter product special for automotive use in eliminating musky ventilation smell? Where is the best place to spray it for maximum circulation?

my mothers car had this prob recently ... it was caused by a leaky evaporator. moisture and refridgerant oil leaked out all over up inside the dash causing the bad smell. my buddy (a certified mechanic) took the dash apart, cleaned everything with degreaser and lysol cleaner, installed new evaporator, and ta dah ! No smell ! hopefully you just have a little condensation and the lysol will do it. The evaporator was $200 +. JB

run the fan on high with the air vent on fresh air and spray the lysol thru the air vent intake on the outside of the car

Check here:

There's even a link there to the actual manufacturer's instructions...
