Default Washing your car in the winter

How do you wash your car during the winter? (screw all of you who live where it is warm)

you get over it and suck it up for the winter. whats the point? it is cold, and always raining, or snowing, and there is nasty salty grimey crap all over the roads. once spring rolls around, you wash it all off.

A lot of people on detailing forums use a no rinse car wash. I'm trying it now for the first time. Works well in the garage and no need for a hose. I just wouldn't use it on a really dirty car. In that case, I'd first hose it off at a coin-op then wash at home.

I normally don't wash it as often. Yes, it is raining etc..so why bother?

But, I do find certain days when it is clear, then I wash it like I normally do.

I guess its just your prefrence whether or not you want to wash it now or later.

I will only clean if the day is nice, such as tommorrow. Calling for cloudy and like 45* or so, good enough for me!

Spray it down real good, wash it, pull it into the garage to dry, wax, etc...

I plan to try and wash off all the salt and stuff once a month, IF a good day pops through. Otherwise oh well. But come spring it will get a full out wax cleaner, polish, wax treatment. But for now, a basic clean and occasional wax will do

Yeah thats what I try to do is just wash it on "warm" days. I don't like that salt sitting on the car. It doesn't seem that the rain gets it all off.

i wait til days like today when its over 40 and hurry up and clean it while its decent warmth to get all of the salt and crap that i have kicked up so far and throw some of the spray wax on it to try to protect the paint some more before the next storm and dry off as much as possible

I just did mine today *as planned*. Did a nice wash and wax. Probably be the last wax for the winter, it will be washed on any nice days though. Stupid salt
