Default Why buy milk when you have a cow at home !

I have been using premium fuel in my( tc )and I notice a difference in performance
and yeah people say oh that's more expensive, well not really for an extra 2$ bucks
big deal. I have been using it for a year now. I probably get better gas mileage too.
Here in Fort Lauderdale it's up to 3.18 on average per gal.
Nice !

Dude before you get seriously flamed, search this site for "octane" or go to www.howstuffworks.com and find out why you're are doing nothing for a car that requires 87. If you can feel the difference that much, take your car into the dealer and say it's broke.

If you get hooked so easily to the marketing machines of these gas companies telling you premium is better, I have some ocean-front property in Montana I want to sell you.

Hey try it for yourself if you have a tc 5-speed.. I am almost positive I notice a diffrence. Besides 87 octane is the minimum requirement

Exactly, the minimum requirement...the minimum requirement to prevent knocking. Of course you feel a difference, because you want to feel a difference, welcome to the placebo effect.

It is a fact that 93 octane has no more power potential than 87. Octane is an "anti-knock" measurement to keep your gas from detonating from the cylinder pressure and heat alone.

OK, I will be driving to north GA this coming Sunday, returning the following Thursday. I will drive up using 87 octane and back using 92. Gas is cheaper in GA so the 92 won't cost me as much as here in FL.
I'll post a followup late next week.
BTW, I have been keeping gas record since I got the car Nov 3, 2004, 18, 780 miles to date, so the data will be meaningful.

oh god, here we go again.

your car was made for 87 octane...you won't notice any difference, it's all in your head. the only time you'd need a higher octane is if you get a supercharger/turbo

this is hillarious because people will believe alot of stuff. one person said that they're gas pedal would vibrate under accelleration if they used 87 octane, but not with 93 octane. then they got flamed because they didn't know that the gas pedal isn't hooked into the engine at all....they acknowledged that it was all in they're head.
