Windshield Crack

Windshield Crack
Driving behind an audi pullup to the light and stop. When it turned green the guy accelerated pretty hard and a rock from under his rear tires flew right into my windshield and cracked it.
Now the crack is small and barely noticable but I think its def going to spread. SO i was wondering what are some good options for fixing this. I called up scion and they said it costs 1090 to replace it completely. Is this the best way to go? I have searched on the internet and found a few glass repairing services that do windshields, Are they a good way to go?
Money isnt really the issue here I have full coverage and everything is covered no matter which way I go. I am more concerned with if they are going to replace my windshield that during the proces toyota will damage some of the rubber around the windshield (happend to a friend of mine) or something else. And also I thought that factory stuff like paint for ex was always better that getting it redone. Opinions and experiences are appreciated.

A lot of times the insurance will pay for a repair without charging the deductable. I am willing to bet that Toyota would hire someone else to install new glass anyway. Make sure you get a quality glass when you replace--if you have to. Do a search as there are some threads on here about glass quality and such. Good luck!!

I think you can get the crack fixed (like a ding/chip) from an auto glass shop... i think current rule of thumb is, if the crack is the length of a dollar bill or shorter it can be fixed... if bigger then window gets replaced

but for me, i have full comprehensive coverage with a $0 deductable, so i'd probably try to get the whole thing replaced....unless they could fix it and have some type of gaurantee
