Default Are you serious?

SO yesterday i drove to the dealership to get my last free oil change done. ( I also got a thing in the mail from the dealership saying come in for your free 10,000 mi maintenance checkup). I have a 2008 tc that i bought brand new in January and it currently has 11,700 miles on it.

NOW since i bought my car i have ALWAYS been told that i get THREE free oil changes.

So i go in and i said to the guy i got a thing in the mail for a free 10,000 mile maintenance checkup i need to get it done. He said okay. We walked inside and sat down and he looked at my history.

Since i bought my car i had one oil change done around 3,000 mi and another one done around 6,000. Then at 7,000 i remembered i had a 5,000 mile free maintenance checkup. (tire rotation, oil change etc.) BUT i told them not to give me the oil change because i don't need it. I mean who gets there oil changed 1,000 miles after they just did it????

So he says to me "oh, you already used up your oil changes." I said no i didn't , ive used 2. He said it says right here you have used 3. I told him (being polite the entire time) that i had 2 done and a 5,000 mile checkup and that was it but i never used the third. He kept telling me that it was right there. I told him yes i know but i didn't use the third. THEN out of nowhere he told me that im actually suppose to get 2 free oil changes. So i said well if im only suppose to get 2 then why are you sending me postcards saying i get a 10,000 mile free oil change?? Cuse if 3,000 plus 3,000 = 6,000. Why are they saying i get a free 10,000???

Does anyone get 3 free oil changes?

i got my three free oil changes, and then my dealership gives me every other oil change free.

first oil change was done by my dealership, the second was done by a toyota dealership near my college, funny thing was, the car was so new, they weren't even sure the tc was made by toyota, and didn't know how to put it in the computer that it was a free oil change. then i got my last one done durring my internship in florida at central florida toyota.

when i came back to md, i kept getting reminders from scion that i have until 3 year/36k miles to use my remaining free oil changes, but i don't like being underhanded like that, i got my free oil changes, and besides, i was now running synthetic oil, so i didn't want conventioal oil now.

it shouldn't be such a big deal. if you have your service records for the car, just show them when you had the oil changes, and show that didn't get an oil change 1000 miles after the previous one. he is probably just looking at his computer and the general desription of the service received says "oil change"

just chill out, it is an oil change, are you entitled to it? your damn right, it is part of the contract when you bought the car, is it something to get your panties in a bunch about? no. trust me on this, as somebody who works with customers all day, getting all b!tchy with me doesn't make it any better, i don't always know the whole story, and i can't possibly remember every single detail, so just calm down and explain what is going on.

Well the only reason im upset is because i don't live close to my dealership its about a half hour away. I didn't want to drive all the way up there to hear them tell me i have to pay for it. I don't have people paying for my things so its nice when i get something free and dont have to pay out of pocket.

So do you guys have 08s and have 3 free changes?

Oh btw they told me i only have till 12,000 miles to use my remaining oil changes?

I get free oil changes for life (only cost me a $1) but it will never go back to the dealer unless it's a recall.
