I think it was there in case you ran out of tp, they'd bring it up with room service :D

when it was discovered that very few did get rings, the staff said a box of rings got lost. then several of the staff mentioned the rings might be presented to us with a gift bag.

here is a kicker...the gift bag may actually be the carry on luggage we all got...

i left the event...thinking that if scion was intending to give us rings, they would make good on it by mailing them later.

when i got home i heard a lot of speculation and questioning about them. i emailed the folks at beyond about the rings and who was supposed to get one...

the reply i got (from Jason) was the rings were for the club presidents (the ones specially picked by the two bigger clubs).

now, the difficulties come in...not all the club presidents (of the two bigger clubs) got one...half of the club presidents at the DT got one...other club presidents were at Loews and did not get one...

all i am interested in doing is finding out what their intent was, and if they are going to follow through with it.

those of you who are satisfied with everything that happend, you do not need to post. we know you are happy with the trip by your posts in other topics.
this topic is only about the ring and its' details....

keep this on topic.

dgHL
If the rings were for CLUB presidents only about a dozen people should have gotten them.

If they were for CHAPTER presidents then they would have been out a lot more money.

I think the only way any of this makes sense was the people that stayed at the cheaper hotel got the ring, period.

i think the ring was to make up because we didn't have a killer pool/jacuzzi like you folks.

I agree about the hotel/ring thing. It does make sense and nice of them to sort of "make up" for being a block away from the action and the nicer hotel accommodations.

My "greedy" and "ungrateful" self still takes a big breath of anticipation when opening up the mailbox though, lol.

well from all the noise i could hear i thought DT had very thin walls, i guess it was quieter because most of us weren't even in that hotel but either at the Loews or bars around town.

yea thats probably it, I'd have been happy at a holiday in they have nice thick walls, and no bathroom phones for the hotel to call and bug you with

How much time did you spend near that phone, jwaj?

And my room had a cordless phone. I've never seen that in a hotel. Go Loews!

Hmmmmm... My room had three wired phones, but I have NO idea if all of 'em worked. All of my calls (Many!) were via my cellphone, except one.

OK guys, I am on this. I don't think it is at all greedy to want to know the story behind the rings. Now, if you get all ____y because a mistake was made somewhere you should then feel terrible. I am going to see what I can dig up.
