TAX INFO from trip

This has extended well beyond any reasonable timeframe, so allow me to post my last contact on this from the folks doing it:
(And no, I have not yet received a W-2G from them.)

Even though I work for Toyota/Scion via a dealership, it's taken me 4 weeks just to get some where. I finally called the Scion hotline, and caused quite a stir today....as my rep called me with all the information and sounded ____ed off....but whatever it's not my problem I haven't received my tax information that has a deadline set by the IRS.
In the conversation he stated it is a 1099MISC form, not a W-2G form that I'm reading here?????

We started out asking where our 1099 forms were, and we were 'corrected' by the folks allegedly sending them out that they were actually W-2G forms. Until I actually see one I won't know what form it is - or if I will even be getting one from them.

I emailed them and they sent mine by email......then a few days later i got mine in the mail......and I had to pay to many taxes this year.....so it sucked to file it but its better than the IRS knockin on the door.

I'm still waiting for even a response...?

Tom, you weren't a winner though, were you? You were given the trip. There were quite a few others here that were given the trip and weren't not actual drawn winners.
Could that possibly be the reason why some of you aren't getting your W2-Gs?

That is true, Jenna. There were large numbers of folks who were "chosen" by Corporate to make the trip rather than actually winning the sweepstakes (club officers, site staff, etc.). Those two different groups (winners, selectees) should legitimately receive two different forms, one for gambling winnings the other for compensation to non-employees (W-2G and 1099MISC).
I'm sure there is a third group, of employees and a fourth group, of folks who were not employees but received compensation for work performed, and I'm not sure what forms they should/would receive.
BUT, aside from getting it on the right form, which the VP in charge of such things is responsible for, the bottom line is that ALL of those forms were supposed to have been mailed out by the end of January...
Didn't happen.

I was asked to attend, and didn't "win" which could be why they(BMG) isn't responding.

Interesting enough, I finally receive my tax information.
It's a W2-G form. What happend to the 1099MISC form that I was told I was getting? WTF is wrong with communication these days?
Toyota doesn't know what Beyond is doing, Beyond doesn't even respond to emails. Coincedently enough, it has effectly taken over 12 days to reach my house from California, and I've now lost a total of $350 just from taking the trip to Miami. Not to mention putting me in a higher tax bracket.
I'll be making that phone call to the IRS here shortly and hopefully for every additional tax form mailed after 1/31/07 they'll have that nice $50 per occurance fine coming to help ease everyone elses' troubles.

At least one of us still does not have resolution to this problem...
I have a voicemail in to Marcus Carles, the CFO for BeyondMG.com, hopefully I'll have proper information when he returns my call...
Here is my most recent e-mail from him:

OK, Marcus, since I received no W-2G, I will use a Form 4852 to file
and use the $1020 figure from the original Sweepstakes site and
Release on line 21 of my 1040.
Seems odd that I did not receive the required tax form, no matter
which one it was. This is actually the first time this has happened
in over 40 years of filing my federal taxes.
The e-mail you just responded to was my request for that form ("So
far, nothing has arrived, and with only ten days left before the
April, 15 deadline for income tax filing, I need whatever form it
should have been, NOW.")
Hopefully what I enter on the 4852 will match whatever you send the IRS.

Tom, Since this was not mandated by Toyota/Scion, you received a prize
based on your simple acceptance to go. The W2G is not primarily for
reporting Gambling winnings. It is also used to report prize winnings.
We reasonably assessed the value and indicated this on your release
form
that you signed. We have reported all W2G forms to the IRS. Should you
have any more questions, please feel free to contact me.

Hello, I'm one of the 300+ folks who went to Miami for the Scion

The fact that I wasn't a sweepstakes winner may mean that I should
not get a W-2G form, since the "income" was not gambling winnings,
but I should have gotten some sort of form, likely a 1099MISC, by the
end of January.

Marcus,
I'm one of the folks who went to the Scion Miami Event on Scion's
dime, so I'm wondering if I will be getting a W-2G form, since it is
already the middle of February.
If the form was mailed, it was obviously lost in the mail, as it does
not take 2 weeks for USPS mail to get from there to here.
If for some reason I fit into another niche and do not get a W-2G,
would you please let me know?
Thanks!

As of early this afternoon, I have talked with Marcus and he headed off to beat someone soundly about the head and shoulders. Late this afternoon I got a copy of my W-2G e-mailed to me...
