Default 40 Yard Dash Times ?

Hey everyone, the last few days one of my cousins and myself have been having an argument. I'm not sure how it started but it is basically he doesn't believe its possible I ran the 40 yard dash in a time in the 4.1 range. or than anyone else could brake the 4.2 range.

Have you run a better time? or now anyone personally that has ?

When I did one of the agility test setups for my job we had to do a 90 yard dash. I ended up doing it in 20.32 seconds. It would've been much faster had they make it an actual straight 90 yards. It was 2 cones set up 45 feet from eachother. You started at the first one and ran to the second, turned around it and ran back. Repeat that 3 times. It's really annoying hauling ___, then stopping to make a tiny ___ turn, then try to haul ___ again.

In HS football I ran a 4.42 40 Yard in pads ... which is pretty damn good...,

a 4.1 40 yard is REALLY fast and only a handful of pro athletes can do it...

but if you can and he doubts you... just have him time your 40 yard

i have to say, i don't believe you ran a 4.1....or even a 4.2 that is lighting quick....like, olympic track team quick.

x2, a 4.4 is flying. for some reason, i think if you were that fast, you would be a pro athlete or something.

sorry, i don't think thats reasonable to believe. VERY few guys can run sub 4.3 40's..... of course, it is possible. so i guess you would win the bet with your cuz.

i ran a best of 5.1 in freshman year of high school, as an out of shape 6' 215lb lineman. And i'm not slow for my size, i've always been pretty quick and athletic.

OP---r u white???

I would have to agree with SePaTc, if you can run a 4.1 you should be playing football returning kicks or something. I'm not saying you can't but I know if I was that fast I would defiantly be putting it to use in some sport!

You guys sound like my cousin. Which is very understandable. I really did not have a want to play sports after the High School level. and tonight after work I got tired of my cuz not believing me, so we made a deal. I'm going to work out to lose about 20lbs get back down to 180, an we will go down to a football field so I can run the 40,, so tonight for me to get a grip on where I still am speed wise, my cuz timed me Hand Time. in the parking lot of our job. I went from one end ot the buildng to the other. which is about 60 yard. He yelled go and went. I did it in a time of 6.3 sec. if you do the math 60yd/6.3sec = 40yd/4.2sec. Now distance is not exact since I just counted the steps my sneakers are 12inches heel to toe. an I walked 180 steps.

wrong. because the last 20 yards you are running at full speed, so it throws off the calculation. plus, you don't even know the real distance.

dude, if you weigh 200lbs now, i'm saying you will not ever run a 4.1 40.

just go to a parking lot and measure out 120 feet. then run it.
