8 Toyota photos still needed! Help me finish!!
Hey guys, I am trying to finish the Toyota archive page before summer hits so I can move on to other projects. This one just keeps nagging at me!
If you didn't know about it, you can find it here:
www.scionlife.com/toyota
Steps to finish the page:
1. Get high-res side-profile photos and finish illustrations
2. Locate or obtain brochures for each model and year, scan and link
3. Complete color code charts for old models
As you can see, I have quite a few of the older Toyotas that have not yet been illustrated. That is because I can't find good, high-resolution photographs of the perfect side-view angle of that car. I need well-lit, clear photos of each of the following vehicles in order to illustrate them. You can help by locating one of the vehicles on the list and emailing me or posting the image here.
Thanks guys! Remember, the camera needs to be dead level and you need to be as far from the vehicle as possible using some zoom lense.. this will reduce the fisheye effect that happens when you are too close.

If your photo crosses a car off the list I will send you a pair of stickers. If you knock two cars off the list I will send you a keychain or lanyard. Knock three cars off and you get a license plate frame. Four cars and you get a free tee shirt!

Yeah, I really need high-res photos. The Cressida photo is too dark and has a lot of compression artifacts... when I zoom in on the photo it gets really blurry. I have used photos like those to make the illustrations, but the end result is never that great and it takes twice as long as the illustrations made from good photos. Good thinking, though!

I need high resolution, though. Although I am outputting my illustrations as small images I am actually creating them as vector images that can be blown up... so I need the details to be very clear on a large scale. That is a PERFECT photo, just too small. I need something at least 1024x768 at a bare minimum.

Cool... remember to stand as far away as you can and zoom in on it so that it won't be as close to a perfect profile as possible. And I need it dead level and dead centered. Thanks!

Close... the camera needs to be a little lower so that its around the same height as the door handle, and resolution needs to be higher... at least 1024x768 (the highest you can take is preferred). You are a bit close to the car... that causes the center of the car to seem to bulge a little bit (fisheye style)... the farther away from the car the better. Lastly, the shadow is cutting off the detail on the front.
Hehe, I am SO picky, but if it isn't a good shot then it is really tough to make a good illustration.

Add photos to each car that is still on the list to make them a little easier to identify. C'mon guys, I want to knock as many off the list this week before Toyotafest so those guys aren't overwhelmed!
I am heading out right now to take care of the T100 and the 89-95 Truck.
