Ok here's a question for you Cory. I have a leak coming from my flywheel cover, and it's either my transmission seal or my rear main seal. Here are some pics.

What would you say this is? My oil level hasn't moved at all, and my thread on Honda-Tech didn't help me at all.

is this the same problem you were having a while back?
i though you determined that it was the rear main seal already?

kinda hard to tell from pics.
is that tube on the bottom of the trans? facing the ground?

It's the flywheel cover, the tube faces the ground. From what I've been reading, it could be the input shaft seal. I'm going to replace anything that's between the engine and transmission anyways, but I want to be sure it isn't a different seal. I kinda ruled out the rear main seal cuz my oil level hasn't moved at all, but I haven't checked the transmission fluid level yet. I've been looking at diagrams all day.

id check the trans fluid level first.
it must be some kind of breather.
if it was mean to be plugged chances are you wouldve leaked out way more fluid than that.

Ok, now I'm reading that it could be axle seals. So I've narrowed it down.

-Rear main seal
-Input shaft seal
-Axle seals
-Input shaft bearing?

FUUUUUU.

check your fluid leverl first to see where its at.
if its low fill it up, watch, and wait.
it should be fairly obvious where its leaking from.
especially if its an axle.

Mmk, I'll do that then. If you look at the first and second pics, it's kinda hard to tell cuz it smears everywhere.

I'd appreciate that. I've been searching everywhere for an answer. So far, I've figured out that if it is coming from that tube on the flywheel cover, it's either the input shaft seal or the rear main seal. I'm going to replace both of those while I have the tranny off, so would you recommend changing anything else?

Here are a couple more pics. I don't get why the CV joint is covered in fluid unless it's that seal that's bad. But then that doesn't explain why the fluid moved forward.

Here's the CV joint that was just replaced.

Pics of the flywheel cover. The fluid likes to gather around that area.

Nay. Honda MTF looks almost exactly identical to engine oil. I just checked my transmission fluid levels. What do you say about the axle seal being the issue?

could be an axle seal.
have you ever taken the axles out before?
they have to be seated exactly right, even the slightest gap will leak.
took me a couple tries to get mine in all the way
