I have never bought a car off ebay but I might try. As for payment, unless they are local, I would use paypal.

My father-in-law has bought 4 or 5 cars from ebay and has had great luck.

Default Car off Ebay

I have bought 2 cars off of ebay, my daughters 92 civic in 2004, and an nissan for my son. I emailed the sellers requesting a phone contact to discuss the details, both responded positively, and emailed me the number. If they had not emailed me the phone contact to talk, that would have been the end of it right there. Both sellers had a lot of positive feedback, so were pretty legitimate. Once a deal was reached, I sent a certified check, and allowed enough time to clear, they sent me the title, I sent them all the Pa. paperwork to do, and a friend at AAA handled the transfer with plates. Both times went smooth, the first was a 78 year old guy in N.J., original owner with all receipts. I also bought one of my BMW motorcycles off of ebay, and it was a good, legitimate deal also. I have bid and emailed on others, but at some point, a red flag stopped me from going farther, a feeling, or some small detail didnt seem right. When in doubt, stop, and walk away from the deal, no matter how good it may seem.

sweet thanks a lot man. He just purchased the car and it looks really nice from all the pics we have been sent. He has sent payment through my pay pal and the lady selling the car seems cool so we will see how it goes.
