Default Attention all Scion owners and supporters we need your help.

ZPIracing is reaching out to all Scion owners to help one of our own. Shane Allan or you may know him as brn2pla has been a very loyal very good customer of ZPIracing and supporter of the scion community. A lot of you met Shane at our Scion Shootout in April.

First to understand why we are doing this you need to understand Shane’s situation. Shane shipped us his car while he was deployed in Iraq for a full engine build, turbo kit, and fully built auto tranny. We used Shane’s car as test bed for our entire auto tranny product line that you guys have been buying like crazy. Shane survived the battles of war but no so much when he returned home which is why I am writing this.

Shane purchased a new Yamaha R1 a few weeks ago while we finished up some loose ends on his car. 3 weeks ago Shane was hit by a drunk driver while driving his R1. Shane was not speeding, was wearing a helmet and at this time that is the only reason he is still alive. Shane has been in a coma for the last 3 weeks with no response while his family has lived out of a hotel staying by his side a thousand miles from home. Shane has shown some signs of recovery in the last week but nothing being known for sure from brain damage to spinal cord damage etc… He has still not spoken or shown any signs of recognition to his family that he even understands who they are or what has happened.

As most of you know ZPI customers truly become ZPI family. I have had Shane to my house and talk to him on the phone 3-5 times a day. The reason I am writing this is that after a 2 hour conversation with Shane’s mother yesterday it has became very clear that they are not able to handle the financial burden that this has placed on them. From the medical bills nearing the upper hundred thousands, lodging bills for them, rental car for them etc…

ZPIracing will be eating the remaining balance on Shane’s car so that they can put it in the hospital parking lot in hopes that it will give him something to fight for if he is told when he wakes up he can drive it home. When we deliver the car to Shane’s family we would also like to give them a check from the Scion community.

We have started a separate National City checking account to be used for the donations. We have also started a separate paypal account for online donations. All $50 or more donations will receive a $25 in store credit from ZPIracing.net.

Donations can be mailed to
ZPIracing
Shane Fund
143 Arnold Dr
Suite A
Shepherdsville, KY 40165

Please make checks payable to Shane Fund
Paypal donations can be made at
shanefund@ZeroPointIndustries.net

I truly appreciate all the support that the Scion community has shown us over the last two years. When a mother comes to us and says her sons Scion is so important to him that it may have the power to bring him out of a coma we have to do our part in helping bring this soldier back to life.

Sincerely,

Kenny Strickler

This is sad to read and my prayers go out to him and his family. I've been in a similar position in my life before and will do what I can to help out as people did for me. Of course giving money won't bring him out of a coma but it will help relieve a lot of stress for his family and him when he does come out. The last thing they need is to worry about medical bills and the expense of being there for him in his time of need. Thanks ZPI for bring this to our attention and I'm sure we will all help as much as we can.

This is a horrible thing to hear about. There have been two many stories about people being hit by drunk drivers lately. Many of us here in Louisville were just effected when one of our friends was killed by a drunk driver only a few weeks ago.

Please, everyone be careful on the roads. Things like this can happen when you least expect it and can effect HUNDREDS of people. PLEASE dont drink and drive and help your friends make the right choice when they are drinking.

I just saw this thread tonight. But I just sent a paypal. This really hits home, if you spend time on a bike at all. I hope he gets to ride again.

Any change in his condition since this was first posted?
