@MR_LUV, Hi, Good Morning. Scanning is what the police do in the past years to survive. The politicians are trying to defund the Police. I do not want to talk here about this. As an example to get an easy ticket (like cash cow), in New Jersey State the police use the scanner. Then they stop only the cars with no insurance. This ticket fight one can not winn if he goes in the front of a Judge. Many small towns in New Jersey berry much need those tickets by the end of each Month. "This is the way!" (quote from the movie Mandalorians) to found the police department, and the salaries of the fire department workers. Also, there is a scanner of the traffic on highways so each major city can see in real time the driving speed.

Scanners are also popular with repossession trucks.
