Default B-day gift for a female friend

I am currently on the hunt for getting my best friend a gift...now I wouldn't have trouble getting a guy something....but the only things I've ever really bought for a female were for my sister and mother and a few girlfriends.....I have No IDEA what I could get....I am in college, so money is an issue...but I'm willing to take suggestions on anything right about now. All you female Scion Lifers....post up and help a confused guy in need of Ideas!

Thanks
-Justin

go the sentimental way man.. its cheap but meaningful..

i made my best friend (currently my GF) a little scrap book of just pictures and little quotes here and there.. probably cost me a total of 15 bucks.. but hey.. she loved it.. made her cry.. i scored some serious brownie points that day..

If you know what band she likes get her tickets
if that's too expensive find out if they play in clubs/bars and take her there

Don't get her jewelry if she's just a normal friend.

What hobbies does she have? If u let us know we might help you better

whatever you get, get also a bouquet of flowers or a long stem rose (not red cos it's for passion - this is again if she's a "normal" friend - white/orange will do)

get her edible flowers. If she is your GF, don't forget the teddy bear to go with it.

Concert Tickets yes usually can't find them cheaper than average of $40

BUT some bands (the not commercial ones) play in bars/clubs (well at least here in DC). I just bought one for $12 :D

How well do you know her? You can get a vibrator for a decent price...

Try to think what she likes, what she has said she wanted, and try to find a gift that goes with it but she never thought of.

Case in point: a few months after I started dating my gf, I saw that her favorite singer and actress, Cher, was going on a farewell tour. She had no idea about the tour so imagine to her surprise what it was like to open an envelope to see a concert to see her idol. It is those little things you notice and do a little looking for that mean the world to a gf or a good friend.

Of course that would not work for you as it was $90 a ticket....but being a senior in high school at the time, it was well worth. Try to find tickets for a cheaper show or maybe even a little concert that is in a park.

Meaningful is always good. Think on your friendship, and the inside joke you two may have. Whatever that may be, find a gift themed to that joke. If she likes animals, find a small crystal figurine of her favorite animal. If she likes art, take her to a museum. A meaningful gift says far more than an expensive one with no thought behind it. Another thing to remember is it's not just the gift, but how it is presented. My friends and ex gf's all knew how much I hated to gift wrap stuff because I was so bad at it, but I would try to do it my way. My way involved a plastic bag wrapped in duct tape, but she understood. She certainly liked it better than the usual giftbag with tissue paper, and it made her laugh (she knew I had a tendency to be a clown/jackass)

for my girlfriends birthday this past month i bought 2 tickets to the Broadway musical Chicago Ft. Usher. Cost me about $250.00 for 2 tickets.. not to mention the $100.00 dinner and the $350.00 digital Camera i bought her.. but hey.. shes worth it..

point being.. this stuff could get rather expensive.. just figure out if shes worth it first.. if she is.. then hey.. its just money right...?
