Banning Street Racers From SL
#81
Now there's ANOTHER thread that will turn up in a search, and will dissuade others from trying to find the RIGHT one so they will post yet ANOTHER thread that will show up in searches and on and on.
Every time someone re-posts instead of searching and posting in an already existing thread, yet another dead-end search result shows up.
That's why searching instead of starting another thread is RIGHT IN THE RULES.
It's not because we don't have time to answer questions, it's not because we don't know, it's not because we don't WANT to answer questions, it's that every time someone starts yet another thread on the same subject it makes search that much more difficult.
Why do you think we have over 140 threads on this subject? Because people didn't search for an answer and just reposted...
It never ends.
Oh! BTW:
("Freedom of Speech" is not a term that applies to any private site that allows posting by members. The US First Amendment only applies to not allowing the US government to censor most speech. As soon as you step into a private site like this, you are in someone else's livingroom or office, not in a public space, and the owner - the person paying the bills - can set any rules they want and a poster can either agree or leave. No problem, but just trying to correct an all too common error of perception about the internet.)
