Blackberry Pearl - Who has one?
Do any of you have this phone? I'm thinking about getting rid of my i860 and picking the Pearl (through T-Mobile) this weekend.
I've read all the cnet reviews (90% positive) but just want to see what others think. Any issues? Any suggestions for plans?
Thanks in advance.

i have the 8100. phone is great. i have a friend with a blackjack and i must say the pearl is better. no offense to those with the blackjack, it's still a good phone (just my opinion). the only thing the pearl doesnt have that the blackjack does is the 3g and video camera. i like pearl better cuz internet is much faster. i cant stand windows mobile... its too slow for business use. if ure using it for personal use, i think windows mobile will be okay. i think it blows, but w.e. goodluck on w.e. u go with.

id just get a black jack
alot of ppl have been recommending the blackjack and dash as well. unfortunately, i jst can't get over their form factors - i gotta be able to comfortably put this thing in my pocket.
thanks for all of the input everyone. even if it might not be the best smart phone on the market, it sounds like a solid enough choice.

The Pearl is too skinny, and I hate the keyboard.
There will be an 8800 which is like the current 8700 (which I have too) and it will have the "pearl" and camera.
Essentially, it's an 8700/Pearl hybrid - and that's the one for me that should be perfect.

bought it. spent most of yesterday getting used to the controls. love it.
i thought the lack of a true QWERTY keyboard would bother me but the suretype thing is pretty intelligent and the more i use it, the less i have to backspace to correct misspelled words.
my last phone was a brick so the pearl is just the right size. i got a belt holster for it but i'm sure it wouldn't be a problem just keeping it in my pocket.
overall, as far as a blackberry noob is concerned, so far so good.

suretype gets a LOT easier the longer you use it. Mine almost never needs me to select the right word anymore. I can actaully fly with that ekyboard faster than I ever could with my Treo.
