Continuing Education after UTI...I Got A Question..
Ok so I graduate this November from UTI...I will attain an Associates Degree in Automotive Technology (dont know the correct name) but I am looking to attain a BA as a Service Writer....
My question is what exactly does a service writer fall under as a study at a university?
I dont know I'm just really lost. I'm looking to do this as a safety net.
Any help would be greatly appriciated

congratulations on the AA....i don't believe that you will be able to get a BA in service writing. the auto tech AA is a great start, but a more general BA may be even more helpful...anything automotive related will get you in the door. but if you want to be a service writer, to be honest you have the credential...you just need someone to give you the chance because that job is more "what you know" than if you went to school.
if you want to finish the ba or bs you have so many more avenues open to you than being a service guy.

Well I would like to become a service writer someday. Quite frankly I would like to continue right into that schooling after graduation, but I must find a school that will accept my degree and credentials from UTI.
I didnt realize how many avenues were really open till last phase when i was talking to my power trains instructor. As of right now I only have one SOC Pin (Student of the Course) and that was in Power Trains and that just shows I was merely the best student in the class grade wise.
As for ASE Certs, I will have to take those once I get some more experience in the field.

"quite frankly" employers in the field you are exploring like people who have the where with all to do what you did.
by the same token you have to get a degree if you want to go beyond the layperson.
my suggestion would be to go into communications with an emphasis in finance. not only could you be a "service writer", but in a year or two you'd be a service manager....

if you get a bachelor's in finance, you'll leave the "service writer" (not that there is anything wrong with being a service writer) in the past. a bs in finance will get you on a whole new career path. trust me.
