current thoughts on myspace?
i know a lot of people here currently use or at some point have used myspace for various reasons.... what are your current thoughts on this and other social networking sites... do you think all the bad press its gotten lately is getting out of hand? do you think it will slowly die out in light of another online fad?

it was probably designed with great intentions () but it has ended up to be exactly what SciBox said...
its like allowing your 12 yr old to act like a 18yr old pronstar...without you knowing (boys and girls...)

lol, all the criticism makes me laugh... i use myspace to communicate to friends i ALREADY have, for instance "party at my house tonight"..its easier than makeing 100 phone calls... also ive gotten back in touch with scores of friends i havnt talked to since highschool, myspace is what u make it
oh, and if u dont know what ur 12 year old kid is up too, u should have given them up for adoption or learn how to raise 'em better

I agree....I use it for friends I already know, not too meet more. I don't get into the whole "who can get the most people on their buddy list" fad. I have also met up with some old friends from school I hadn't seen or heard from in like 6 years. Everyone on my page I know and that's what I use it for. Other than that, I don't care for it too much. But I'm not complaining....I just take it for what it is.

i was just refering to what most use it as "to meet new people" but whatever i dont even have one that how i feel about it and the only reason i would sign up would be to check out the local music scene

MySpace is the devil. It just makes it so easy for people to prey on children but hten again so did all the chat rooms that were/are featured by Yahoo. Though I still think it is the devil, pedophiles will find ways to exploit children regardless of the laws and rules we put into place. I wish we would just start killing them off. That would stop alot of them......

Just like the real world you can find both good and bad people in all places. Why is it myspace responsibility to watch your kids, isn't that a parents job? Blame TV or the Computer or Video games. How about doing things with your kids so they grow up well adjusted.
Every killer, pedophile and sick'o was is someone's son or daughter at one time. If my child makes bombs in the basement I should be held responsible not everyone else in the world.
...In my humble opinion.
