This site has become ridiculous. Too many mods on power trips. God forbid someone questions them!
I've known Pete for a long time and he has always been a cool azz person. He's always been the one to always offer a hand. Personally if I was him I would probably not even want to come back to this site after being booted. Too many damm sensitive babies! LOL ok back on topic FREE TCPETE!

OK, folks, let me toss in a couple of thoughts here...
I'll be first to agree that Pete is a good guy, knows his stuff, helps a lot of people, and has a lot of friends.
He also doesn't like rules.
Pete has broken the rules he promised to follow at least three times, badly enough to get a warning - each time from a different SuperMod.
Each time he was warned, the infraction was explained and he was warned to read and follow the rules he agreed to or he could be banned.
After the third time of breaking his promise to follow the rules, a group of SuperMods reached a consensus that Pete was not following the rules, and by past performance would continue to not follow the rules.
One reason people are banned is that they have demonstrated that no matter how much we plead with them to follow the rules they agreed to, no matter how many times they are given an opportunity to play well with others on the site, no matter how many times they promise to follow the rules, they don't.
To that I have to ask you, Pete, why should we believe you THIS time? What makes this time different from the other times? Why should we think that you've suddenly seen the light and will become the perfect forum member when you haven't before?

wasnt coryjames brought back from the ban bin and succesfully assimilated back into the world of SL?
pete has said that if he is allowe to come back that he would cause no trouble and if trouble does arise he has agreed to let the mods ban him again with no outbreak.
i cannot speak on the behalf of pete in saying that he wont ever act out again (although hes told me he wont)
but if he is allowed to come back and acts out and is banned, now everyone will know that he is on his FOURTH strike and that he deserves a ban and no other threads of this sort or any kind of support will be there for him.

With Cory James not only did HE promise to be very careful, his friends also jumped in there by not just pleading that he be allowed back into the fold, but also took up the job of watching out for him, and making sure if he did something out-of-line that it was "handled" before a SuperMod could see it and react.
So far it has worked, but it hasn't really been all that long.
I hope it continues to work.
(You need to understand that SuperMods and Admins really don't like to ban people - it causes all sorts of disruption with friends getting all upset and raising Hell with all sorts of garbage in their signatures - in fact, that was another requirement for bringing Cory James back - he wouldn't be brought back until all the crap disappeared from all the sigs. What Mods, SuperMods, and Admins do like, though is for members to follow the rules. That means we can do the helpful stuff like moving threads for people and cleaning up the spills in Aisle 3... We only ban folks when they get to the point of causing us too much extra work.)
One thing something like this DOES accomplish is it gets the attention of a lot of people and helps them to understand that we all need to work together to get something accomplished.

^^ i can agree with that, if he doesnt do as promised, i can see why banning would be implimented. As for Tomas sticking his neck out, i understand where hes coming from, but again, if allowed in, and if he messes up again, I believe this will not reflect on Tomas or the other mods. This would soley reflect on the behavior of TCpete. I also believe the difference this time from other times was that he was "actually" banned as opposed to just warned... sometimes thats enought to change a person. As a good friend of his, i can see that he would be willing to change. If he goes back to his old ways and warrents a ban, then it would be deserving.

the circumstances seem to be almost entirely the same in both situations.
