im sure that you dont want to think of yourself in that way, but i dont know how else to describe it. you have absolute power over the forum and can censor as freely as you wish. you can make any account or post you want disappear like it was never there in the first place. im sure you would see things differently if the shoe were on the other foot.

i know that the first amendment rights dont apply to scionlife. thats become very obvious. however i think you should keep in mind that even though you own this web site, without people like pete that have become beloved throughout the community, people will start to go elsewhere.
if Pete is no brought back fairly soon i am predicting the demise of SL, not to a total extent of course, but enough to have a big impact.

when you say "these boards" do you mean the tC section or THESE boards as in all of SL?

so once again big whoop the tC section would be mostly drama free, and in turn would be better overall, period.

no one is making you people stay here. If you do not like the rules then leave.
its pretty simple.
I do not see the big deal here, he had been warned several times in the past and kept on doing the same stuff, so he was banned. I see no wrong here. If everyone was given a second chance then why even have rules?

Someone needs to start a InvisionFree board for everyone to go to instead, so we can all get away from this bs dictatorship.

Gothbox, i dont even know why your posting in this thead, if you have something against pete or against this whole thing than just stay out of it, im not begging for ppl to join or help, thats entirely up to them.

and i realize that there are ppl who do not like Pete, but this thread is for ppl who DO like pete and would like to see him come back.

id just like to keep this on top and keep it going in a positive constructive manner.

Thanks

don't have anything against Pete what so ever. Just saying that this whole thing is being blown WAY out of proportion.
what if I DO like Pete? I still feel the same way.

as my mom used to say,
"your making a mountain out of a mole hill"

im not trying to blow it out of proportion, its really just to make a point and because although at times it may not have seemed like it, Pete was an active member in the community who made many contributions.

i just dont think its fair, that other such as coryjames can be brought back and pete cant when the circumstances are near identical for both situations.

The vast amount of irony in this post is utterly astonishing.

Guys, don't argue among yourselves. If nothing else it's unseemly.

brett561tc, I don't own this site, I'm just an unpaid administrator doing my best to ensure it runs the way the owners want it to.

As to seeing things differently "if the shoe were on the other foot" I'm not sure I can agree with you on that, Brett. I've been posting on the internet since my first post in a usenet group back on 03JUN1983, and I still post on many, many more forums than I administer.

One of the things I do is try to follow the rules the people running things set. If I for some reason I can't follow those rules, I leave, letting those who can, enjoy themselves.

If there is some reason you, or anyone else, cannot abide by the rules you agreed to follow before being allowed to post, you shouldn't have lied and promised to follow those rules.

As to Mods, SuperMods, or even Admins being able to do whatever they want here, that is patently untrue. We do our best to follow the rules, and if we cannot we ARE removed from power and someone else who CAN follow the rules (hopefully) replaces us. (Yes, it DOES happen.)

I'd like to see Pete back here, but I'd rather that Pete had followed the rules, and not been banned.

Thing is, he broke the rules, he was warned, he broke them again and was warned again, he broke them again and was banned. It's that simple.

To those who constantly bring up things like "Other people break the rules, too!" or "Pete's not the only one breaking the rules!" or "We should all be banned for breaking the rules!" let me say that someone else breaking the rules doesn't have anything to do with making it OK for you to break the rules.

Let's give a simple (but admittedly over the top) example to make that easy to understand.

How much logic is there to "other people commit murder and don't get punished for whatever reason, so *I* should be able to do it too!"

None, right?

Someone else also breaking a rule does not give anyone a free pass to also break rules - especially when they are rules you specifically promised to follow.

You guys saying that ScionLife (all 70,000 of us) is popular because of the posts people make are absolutely right! Since the vast majority follow the rules, and appreciate others who follow the rules, we try to ensure the rules are followed without micro-managing everyone's posts.

Personally I give a lot more "cautions" where I politely ask someone not to keep doing something than I do "warnings" where I take official note of a more serious infraction or one that a person has made more than once.

Most folks apologize and promise not to do whatever it was again. Some folks gripe about being singled out and promptly do it again. Some just ignore us.

The biggest reason folks get banned is because they either can't or won't learn from experience, and we just don't have the time to hold their trembling little hands.

It's really pretty simple (and very, very few folks are warned and even fewer are ever banned).

I will add one more thing for those of you who obviously missed the massive hint earlier: No one comes back if there are a bunch of signatures taking mods to task for doing their jobs, and that I know for sure...

Have a good evening!

I'm wandering off to enjoy myself on some other sites while you folks figure it all out and save the world. :D

Tom

I understand and for the most part agree with it, except for one thing:

Are we comparing banning to murder? I understand the argument...but maybe to like bullying a kid at school, he is just talked to, never expelled, and people can change

alright tomas, i will begin telling everyone to remove things where its needed.

and i agree with the everyone breaks the rules thing so we should all be banned.
that doesnt make any sense.

waht im saying is others have been pardoned so others should be too.

SO TO EVERYONE WHO SEES THIS.

PLEASE REMOVE ANYTHING INVOLVING FREE PETE FROM YOUR SIGS.

sorry for the yelling, lol, it was needed so ppl would see it.
