i fully agree with 3 warnings and a ban, but when you are as active in the community as pete was...
im not saying that anyone is above anyone else or better than other ppl, or above the rules...
somtimes it just takes ppl a little bit more to realize that someone is serious.
i will bring this up again for the 2nd or 3rd time now, coryjames was banned a while back, and while i didnt get involved in that, i dis witness the whole thing, it unfolded similarly to this.
he got banned.
ppl wanted him back.
they protested.
he was allowed to come back for one last chance.
he has not messed up yet (to my knowledge)
so the only thing missing from this scenario is the last 2 things i mentioned, and the only thing that were waiting on is the mods.
pete has assured me he will behave, and i will make sure of it, along with other members who said they will keep an eye on him to make sure he doesnt get out of hand.
and if you do look at his track record, he did calm down for quite some time before he got banned.
granted he still ended up saying something that was wrong in the eyes of you moderators, but compared to the things he used to say, his recent posts were petty.

I was banned from a pretty big forum back in my day for picking on people... it was just my way of joking around. Mods didn't quite catch the drift though.
Anyway, I was banned for two weeks and came back and barely posted ever again. Kind of lost where I was going with that.....
Anyway, it's almost christmas for pe7es sake. One more chance would make all of these kids happy, why not try it out and see what happens?

I was given a warning because a video I linked to had some profanity in it.
On the forums themselves, I have never sworn once...this was my 2nd warning...
1st warning I can't remember...but it was senseless IMO.

I'm on board. He's a good guy. Everyone in life makes mistakes numerous times and nobody says your banned from life. If someone dare says they don't make mistakes in life than they are lying. I honestly think there's more to worry about around here than banning peeps. It's the internet. O well, we can only wait and see.

I think sometimes rules are a little too specific and strict, and you make it hard to follow that way.

BTW Hoodie yes the situations are similar...it took time and then the last part you mentioned came about. Like Tomas mentioned, everyone needs to get everything out of their system, cool down and then go from there...the situation is tough and I feel for you guys, I don't like seeing people go either, none of us do...except spammers and people that post really bad pictures...

ive reached a stand still in this thread.
ive already voiced my opinion multiple times, and so have others, ive gotten almost everyone to remove the junk from their sigs, and pete has agreed to behave.
so idk where to go from here.

Guys and gal, some of the "things" needing to be "sorted out" before any real consideration be given to Pete being allowed back are cleaning up the signatures where they refer to this in any way, and getting references to it out of locations and anywhere else you think it is "cute" to annoy the mods. Annoying the mods doesn't help anyone's case in any way, it just makes it that much harder to accomplish anything worthwhile.
If anyone doesn't understand what I just wrote, ask - I'm sure someone here who DOES understand it will be happy to explain it - I'm through trying.
There was really more to it than that as I was directly involved and saw it even though you didn't, Hoodie.
Cory and I had some serious discussions about just how seriously he would have to take the problem if he was to have any chance to come back.
His friends initially tried the same sort of blackmail and coercion that is being tried here, but came to understand that badmouthing the mods and blaming the mods for banning someone who admittedly broke the rules wasn't winning them any concessions.
Cory's friends (and a fresh new moderator) volunteered to help Cory to follow the rules, and to make sure any breaking of them disappeared before a SuperMod was forced to notice.
Let me just say, folks, that being given a deadline to accede to your demands "or else" doesn't get things you want done, done.
Right now my very first response to any of the "bring Pete back before the 15th" demands is to make damned sure it doesn't happen. Is that understood, too?
Our track record with bringing people back who could not or would not learn in three easy lessons has been pretty dismal. Only two that I know of have made it for any appreciable length of time.
We really do need a whole lot of assurance and a whole lot of cooperation to go up against those kind of poor odds.
Anyone else want to explain this to the slow learners?

So, let me get this straight... The only real reason we are being asked to delete "Free TeeCpete" from our sigs and locations is because it is annoying the mods?
