Default DIY: how to freak out your overbearing asian parents

Those of you who are in high school who have the stereotypical (usually) 1st gen Asian American parents might find this particularly useful and amusing. I highly recommend you videotape their reactions and put it on youtube. You might also be able to use such evidence at your parental emancipation hearing.

Tell them;

"I got a B. In Math"
"I'm not going to college, I signed up for a vocational school"
"I joined the Army / Marines/ Navy / Air Force"
"I'm going to major in Acting"
"I blew the college money in Vegas"
"I've already had premarital s. e. x."

Enjoy! and remember to duck.

Do take caution tho, because for some, it might be the end.

Some recent additions to the above that I've thought of;

"I'm going to earn my living performing skilled labor (carpenter, mechanic, etc.)"
"I'm going to earn my living performing unskilled manual labor"
"I've always enjoyed cleaning up after others - I'm going to be a janitor / sanitation engineer"
"I'm going to be a professional video game player / musician / artist / stuntman / snowboarder / skater / etc."
"I'm just going to go to the same college as my significant other -we're going to be together forever!"
"I've already told all of our relatives and "family friends" that I'm going to clown college. They seemed amused. You'll probably be hearing about it soon."

I recommend wearing many layers of thick clothing to absorb the impact better.

For the asian females: "This is Julio, he is the janitor at my college and I am dropping out to wait on him hand and foot."

"I got a B. In Math"
doesnt matter too much

"I'm not going to college, I signed up for a vocational school"
as long as im going back to school they'd be happy

"I joined the Army / Marines/ Navy / Air Force"
was going to send in my deposit for Valley Forge Miltary. Relatives overseas say t take a job that doesnt involve combat. But too worried about Bush aminstration, so i didnt go.

"I'm going to major in Acting"
acting??

"I blew the college money in Vegas"
they lecture me for gambling. lol made some good cash last season but my 516$ ticket for speeding.... i wish i didnt spend it already. lol

"I've already had premarital s. e. x."

"I blew the college money in Vegas"
"WHAAT!? How that happen? We taught you to count cards!"

A buddy of mine in college told his parents that he wasn't sure which college he was going to, but it was most likely going to be on one of the coasts (he grew up in Austin and wanted to be as far as away as possible). They eventually struck a deal that they'd front the money for a private dorm if he stayed in Austin. But that's how the Vegas thing would have went with his 'rents. Well, except for fewer articles in their reply.

Me, I like the fact that my wife's parents (Laos) were strict with her. She turned out to be an angel. Although, I know if she told them any one of those things her parents would freak out. I’m use to only dating Asian chicks before I was married. So I'm use to it when the girls tell me they can come over because there parents are tripping, or if I never get to meet there parents.
