Wow...sorry but the guy deserved it. "revving to 8000rpm (over the 6250 stock redline) and the clutch exploded." The limiter is there for a reason.

Yep, it's played out. Saying that should be a bannable offense.

if you read the thread apparently those clutches are not the greatest quality and the motor could have handled it, i think he said it was pushing a little under 600hp.

also the owner wasnt even there, it was his tuner who was driving it.

I have "scattered " several clutches, trannies & engines when I was a bit younger...
and after getting the 3rd dose of shrapnel rash on my body.. invested in a good scatter shield..the cheepie ones just don't cut it!...(.really really detrimental to "Johnson and the Twins")

Just think where those pieces would have gone if the clutch had scattered through the firewall instead of up and forward....

Just a note... all except the 1st scatter happened on the track, last was in a '23 "T" slingshot running nito in a blown, 392... engine held together... pressure plate didn't... scatter shielding kept Johnson and friends happy
red

Stupidity is pretty much always detrimental to Johnson and the twins.

first gen s2000s and most rx7s (mostly series 6 and above) can spin to 9k

edit: if you really wanna get technical, multiply the tach on an rx7 (or any rotary engine) times 3 and thats how fast the crankshaft is spinning. the rotors spin at 1/3 the rotation of the crankshaft on a Wankel engine.
