POP Quiz for ya, hot shot- how many Americans automatically call any Asian they see Chinese? Uhm, ya...... THAT'S the reason that line is in the song.

Um I'm actually Asian so I know what I'm saying. I was just pointing out how the one dude doesn't realize chinaman is a deragatory word used to describe an Asian person in the same context as ch*nk and g--k. So saying you are Japan isn't really helping the cause. He shoulda said something smarter like threw a diss at prejudice people who think Chinese and Japanese are the same.

Verbal is a tri-lingual Korean/Japanese guy born in Japan, spent some years in Boston, and has a very sucessful career in Japan producing and promoting BOTH Japanese AND Korean artists. In fact, quite a number of his recent works had Korean artists.
Maybe you don't know the situation of Koreans in Japan; in many cases they are treated like the illegal immigrants within the US- even if they've lived legally in Japan for 3 generations!!
Verbal gets it from three sides: when he's in Korea, they are prejudiced against Japanese. When he is in Japan, they are prejudiced against Koreans. When he is in the US, they are prejudiced against all foreigners. If anyone understands racism, it's him.
