Getting a tattoo need help. Update: tattoo is done.
Ok so I'm planning on getting a tattoo. This will be my first (lol haven't said that in awhile) so I need some help. I'm wondering if anyone knows a good shop in the NJ area. Need someone who is very skilled in making portraits. I spent $130 having the picture restored and blown up. It took 2 weeks to repair a very badly damaged photo from the early 1940s. Any ideas on what to add to the tattoo or places or anything are welcome. It's for my grandparents this is the very first picture they took together
UPDATE:
Ok so I finally got it done. Let me know what you think. I still need to go two more times for touch ups and to add more white ink. But this is what I have so far.

Let me start off by saying make SURE that you find someone that's is HIGHLY experienced in portraits. Plan on spending around 450-800$ for it. Depending on the tattoo artist you find.

Go to the shops in your area, ask people with tattoos who is good around there, and look at portfolios of portrait work from the artisits. Usually a good shop will tell you straight up who the person in there is that does them well. Also ask if anybody is coming in for a portrait soon and come watch the artist work. Most of the time they wont mind since they want the business.

I know it doesnt sound like the best place, but "The G Spot" in Wilmington/stanton DE is amazing. The owner, George Moore, is one of the best artists ive seen. He's basically my uncle, and I have all my work done there. The only other shop in the area I recommend is also in DE. Artist's name is Terry Manning at his shop called Wildcard Studios. Both people are pretty booked, but do some of the best work I've ever seen. I know George really enjoys portraits too. Save up some money, think about it, and good luck with everything.
