Default girl problemish..

Does anyone ever get physical pains in their legs or lower back, from anxiety or some non-physical ailment?

this is a semi, can a constant pain, actually(not possibly) be derived from a non-physcial source? depression, anxiety, whatever? Looking for actual testimony from someone with it, not heresay 2nd person stuff.

i deal with constant pain myself, and really just don't think about it, so it doesn't bother me. But my gf has been getting it constantly as of the last couple months. it's not thyroid/diabetes or kidney infection. any guesses?

Well, anxiety can make you tense. Maybe she's tense in the legs?

What makes her/you so sure that the pain is something that isn't caused by something physical? Seems to me there's a gazillion reasons one would have lower back/leg pain that is caused by something other than mental state.

Sciatic nerve is what screams at me. Perhaps something to do with a spine type injury. Or maybe it's Idontwantsexwithdaveitus?

Pain is a fact of life. Misery is a choice.

Have her checked out, make sure there isn't anything there, if not, then it's all in her head. And I don't buy those types of pains.

urinary tract infection?

sounds like a prime candidate for a bahamavention to me, because yes, there are plenty of cases where mental anguish and high stress, and extreme depression can also manifest itself into physical ailments. stress has a big impact on your body chemistry and how it will function.

Sometimes it takes a long time to get a proper diagnosis.

yeah, and sometimes people shop around for a "proper diagnosis". IOW, they sometimes bounce around from doctor to doctor until one of them tells them that they do indeed have that condition they saw on Oprah last week.

But I do agree that stress is a major contributor to body physiology, and we still don't know all of it's effects. And something tells me that Dave's wife is prone to being easily stressed out.

Yeah, try www.webmd.com ..

But I get really tense from stress. It never fails to give me an instant headache, but it often is in my back, shoulders and neck as well.

Is she taking any "statin" type drugs (Lipitor, etc. - for cholesterol)? If so, it could be rhabdomyolysis... See here for symptoms, etc...

thanks guys, i ask cuz it's about at the point of it all being in her head. she takes a synthroid(thyroid med) & paxel(low dose of happy med), and just came back from multiple physical check yesterday and no urinary or anything. she's not used to living with pain, so she's sissy about it.

i'm not talking about being "tense", but little pains in her legs and back.

And it's not her Sciatic nerve? Of course, that'd probably the first thing the doctor thought to ask and look for.

yeah, the easy physical stuf is checked out. they gave her some antibiotics, thinking maybe something would go away if it's an infection of something else.
