"Green Week" on NBC - yeah, right
Sure, NBC...try to pat yourselves on the back & make everyone think you actually want to do something about environmental issues, and not just jump on the pop culture bandwagon that Gore started...
...and then cut down a tree that's over a half-century old, haul it from CT to NYC on a huge tractor-trailer spewing black smoke into the air, with your multi-car crew caravaning to record the entire process, and install 30,000 lights on it to be lit 24/7 for the next two months.

And Im sure that they needed to cut down an entire rainforrest to get those annoying green logos.
Those 30,000 lights you describe are probably special super-high-wattage bulbs that look oh-so-pretty on TV cameras. And they are probably powered by a special non clean coal power plant located next to a wildlife sanctuary. They may as well have gotten a tree from three-mile island, it would at least self-illuminate (green no less-for the holidays).
