Agree, but I would much rather support a shipping company than pay taxes.

I order firearms online (for cheaper), then pay shipping and a flat FFL fee. That way, the gun dealer essentially does nothing but gets paid. I can then legally avoid paying sales taxes, supporting a government that didn't want me to buy the gun in the first place.

No laws are broken, everybody wins.
I go with the cheaper of the two. My Model 60 was cheaper at the local gun shop than if I had ordered it and picked it up at the same local gun shop. At the same time, the mossberg roadblocker 500 was $40 more at the gun shop than online... and I ended up receiving it at the same shop.

And sorry, but for anything C&R, I'm only getting it online and that ships right to me. Not paying a dealer markup for surplus stuff... i.e. the stupid prices on SKS's right now.

I'm trying to help boost the economy, so I ordered the Mossberg through a gun shop in Desplaines.

I buy my ammo from a shop where police officers get their ammo, at a shop in Lincolnwood!

Are you still able to get ammo? Out here we are having trouble getting 9MM, .40, 45 ACP, 10MM, CCI 22LR, and any other popular caliber.

I found some Winchester White Box ammo for my boy that has a .45 caliber Glock.
As for me, I get my ammo at that cop place I mentioned. They have to have it cause police officers buy there...lucky me!

Popular calibers are getting back in stock.

For some reason, Wal-mart is selling their WWB of .380 for over $30 per 50!! And JUST the .380.... interesting.

Speaking of Wal-mart, someone mentioned CCI 22LR earlier. That's like all the stores around here have anymore. Maybe check wally world. Don't settle for T-bolts.

You can buy them online. I was looking around and found this:
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/656

And this is the gun I want:
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/26551
Anyone have one? How is it?

Roommate has that exact gun.

We've put over 5,000 rounds through it, and I think he's only cleaned it once. Last time we shot it was late April, when we were testing out my new carbine @ 50 yards.

We were consistently hitting an 8" paper with that pistol, at 50 yards. The biggest limitation was the fat front sight on the Beretta. Given a red-dot or a small scope, I would expect qualifying accuracy at 50 yards at rest, and probably consistently on the paper at 100 yards.

Keep in mind that this is OBSCENE accuracy for pistol.

She's a fun little gun, and comes highly recommended. Just keep in mind it's a .22lr and not the ideal gun for self defense (may still work, though, .22 is deadly for sure!)... but otherwise, gets A+ scores across the board.

I was just able to get some boxes of 9MM LUGER but as for everything else....they are expecting more ammo to come in. i was also able to get 40S&W at the same shop. Now i just need to get some 45ACP...I also went to cheaperthendirt.com and was able to get more 22LR and some 9mm luger. I'll probably end up getting more from them in the near future.

Anyone else have a side-by-side shotgun? I have a Stoeger side-by-side. It is fun to shoot but hurts the shoulder.

Whoa I like the gun and the front muzzle break. Looks like a nice front edge on the gun too - nice serrations.

In the U.S., not very many. Most are post- May 1986, which makes them illegal for the civilian market, unless someone knows something I dont ---

Some of the better automatic pistols include:

Glock 18
Beretta 93R (more like an automatic taurus pt92 than 92FS)
Intratec DC9 (The infamous Tec-9)

And of course, the Mauser C96 -- a 1900's era gun made famous in the Resident Evil 4 game, called "Red 9" when chambered for 9mm parabellum, though it usually came in the old 7.63 Mauser cartridge.

-----------

Submachine guns aren't considered pistols, so I haven't mentioned any of those. The list gets a LOT bigger with this group, since the firearm is more controllable when it's got a buttstock.
