I would feel bad for you if this wasn't staring you in the face every time you look at something on Craigslist

They also sent you this exact email when you posted your amp I bet.

sorry man, but you only got scammed because you didn't educate yourself.

Yea, that sucks, but unfortunately, that's how scams work.

I'll only deal online via personal check (making sure it clears), postal money order or paypal.

Paypal is really the only one who will cover you, but with a check or money order, I wait until I have the cash in hand before any merch gets sent out.

I have an item on CL right now that a guy wants me to ship... I'm wary of it, but he wants to pay via paypal, which makes me less nervous, but still... craigslist is best kept local and with cash.

well first off i waited untill the check cleared(i'm not that retarted). I went to the bank and argued with the manager and they refunded all of my money. They admitted it was there falt. If i didn't wait for the check to clear iw ould of been screwed. And the other goos thing is that i still have the amp. I got so lucky. I hope that bastard burns in hell for what he tried to pull.

Yes, you got extremely lucky! But they will try it again, and when they do they may really screw someone. This is a relatively new scam, and the word is steadily getting out about it.

Dont feel bad I got scammed on EBAY from those Nigerian Bastards...

Listed a XBOX 360 with 4 Controllers, 25+Games All Mint and wireless piece for $700 on ebay.

I paid $100 to ship it and lost it......

The sad part is, it took 2 days before it left the USA. The post office put a "stop" on it before it left.

It went threw 2 locations and they were unable to stop my package (not suprising) and it's gone. A few friends and I were going to save some money and fly to the EXACT address of the place but heh...oh well...

When you get scammed all that " call this 1 800 number or this and that. None of it helps. They dont investigate it.

Glad things worked out. I only use craigslist for local items, so we can do business face to face. My ccp does me no damn good if some dude online robs me.
