Awesome guys. Thanks so much for the help and ideas. I could have easily had my peers at school edit and revise the essay, but they aren't as "in tune" to rolling like a gangsta as you all are. Thanks again everyone, the help is MUCH appreciated.

that is a great idea for an essay, and funny to man... are you a freshman?
Actually, I'm still in high school.

For process analysis documents, you need to make it more simplistic, clinical, and formal. That makes it funnier that it's describing how to do a gangsta lean.

I would include simplistic pictograms of "Good" vs. "Bad".

You might want to include a definitions section.

LOL. I was taught the complete opposite by my English Comp teacher. I better follow her guidelines for this one since she's grading it, but I'll keep what you said in mind incase I would ever have to write another one.

How are people supposed to see you gangsta ride if you have the windows up and they are tinted to a illegal extent? And put all the Geo Prizm stuff together for organization

etli is an engineer. Process Analysis papers is an entire class in engineering, because as an engineer it is as equally important to communicate to your equally educated ppeers as it is to your sometimes politically savvy pointy haired boss with a BA, and to the marketing nimkampoops. The whole class is designed for you to write one paper that will speak to each of these folks. Your English comp teacher is a moron.

But by all means, do it your teacher's way for the grade, that was just an FYI.

Communication is the key to proper understanding. If your language is flowery, long and descriptive, people will have a hard time understanding it. For technical documents, especially for documents that will be viewed by many different people with different education, (and people who don't speak English as a first language), simplicity is best. Basically, in technical writing, you should be writing as if your reader were a moron, or at best, 4th grade educated.

You should not try to tell the reader more than they need to know. (for example, you don't need to tell them WHY they have to do something, just WHAT, HOW, and WHEN)

Obviously, your English teacher is not an engineer. I find it funny she is asking you to write in "flowery" manner for a technical paper.

If you want horribly hard-to-understand English, try to read St. Augustine's "City of God". The first sentence takes up a page and a half.

Then you've gotta write one on how to be a wannabe, and you must include hubcap spinners in the paper somewhere.

That would be HILARIOUS. I'm picturing an old Disney cartoon with Goofy learning how to do something.
