Default To Howard Stern fans with Serious....

Hi there, I never got serious but started listening to Howard everymorning about 6 months before he said he was leaving, I actually remember sitting in my car when he revealed that he was for the first time.

I just wanted to know something if someone would be so kind to tell me. At the end their broadcast on radio they said they would reveal something no one knew about them on their first show can anyone tell me what they said please.

Thanks for your time.

their first show is Jan. 9th. then all will be revealed.
as for the money, you can look at athletes and what they get paid. do you think that is ridiculous? it's a brave move and one Sirius is counting on to pay back 10 fold.

sports jock can get 200+ for 10 years...
howard getting 500 for 5 years is stupid...

Sirius has sunk so much of it revenue into Howard that it can not afford to build the reast of the platform up.

i used to like howard, but his day has passed. i can't relate to a mid 50's divorced multimillionare _____ about fictious problems.

all i can say to his avid listeners...enjoy it while Sirius can afford it...

IIRC, Howard isn;t going to exactly clear $100 mil/year. I believe he has to pay for his staff/expenses/etc. More importantly, I don't give a fawk how much money he gets paid. I can relate to him about as well as I can relate to the local drivetime radio host. Howard is funny, makes my drive to work almost enjoyable, etc.

Oh, they aren't nuts.

Have you seen how many subscribers they have added since it was announced???

Howard alone is giving them the edge they needed to start to gain on XM.

Howard rules!!

Check out the letter howard wrote on howardstern.com....

It says in there the first show on the 9th (which I will miss since i'm on a plane. SOooooooo po'ed!!), they will make the revelations and then take bets over a week or so, and then say who's revelations belonged to whom.

Shows gonna rock!!

howard annouced he was going to Sirius a long time ago...(maybe summer/fall of 2004)
it did nothing for their sales.
the whole Sat. radio is being supported by the logistics community (aka truckers). while many of them will buy Sirius, it is not because of Howard.

on a side note...i also think Infinity is stupid for its selections on Howards replacements.
In the NY market they chose David Lee Roth. wtf does he know about doing a show every day??? he will be out of ideas in a month or two.

You can't tell me Howard has no effect on Sirius unit sales. Its the reason I have about 3 more receivers on my account. Plus, my bro sells sirius all days because of Howard and/or NASCAR people switching from XM.

Although sirius sales may not have spiked when we made the announcement - stock sure did and I nearly trippled my cash

howard is a man that has always broken new ground. i believe he will do good and make alot more money.

If he doesnt, hey - he's already paid his dues, and its time to cash in.

Obviously the people who will be switching to Sirius solely for the purpose of listening to Howard Stern weren't going to switch while he's still available to listen to for free. Forget the new subscriptions since the end of 2004. Now is the time to start paying attention to new listeners in the past few weeks and the upcoming months now that he's off-air.

speaking of howard and sirius...why can't I get a schedule of what's going to be on Howard 100, and Howard 101? Go ahead and look at the sirius site, ...It will tell you what the shows are, but doesn't list days and times.

i got sirius for sports....particularly the nfl, because in so cal we generally get lame games on tv. fox and cbs always choose west coast homer games because we're the big west coast market with no team. we get san fran, oakland, san diego, seattle.

i'm not personally a fan of a west coast team. i want to see the best match up nationally and generally don't get to see it. (i also listen to every lions game because i'm a masochist).

howard is a great bonus though.

You're dead wrong.

Sirius has added an enormous amount of subscribers in the last year. Howard is not entirely responsible, but he has a fair amount to do with it. The whole of satellite radio is not being supported by truckers either, though they are definitely part of the customer base.

If truckers were the main market then their advertising would reflect that across the board and XM and Sirius ads are clearly not targeted directly at truckers. The programming would also reflect this, you'd have 30 channels of Blue Collar Comedy Tour and Hank Williams Jr. instead of 30 channels of gangsta rap and popular music.

I put a Sirius receiver in my TC just because I love Howard so much.
I got it in October. I can't wait till he is on Sirius. It will be so much fun!

Off-topic, but I feel you. Living in the Bay Area, I get the same thing. You should pop for DirecTV. NFL package makes life so much better. I can't because my apartment's view is blocked by trees... so no satelite for me.

On-topic... Sirius got arguably the biggest name in Radio to come to them. Big gamble... only time will tell if it will pay off. I'd get a Sirius receiver if I had the time to listen to it. Shoot... I'm still working on getting approval from the wife on a Video iPod.
