Foriegnors are more apt to do it. The "Hitler" badge has been used so many times for so many different people that it's almost lost meaning. The fact of the matter is this, Bush is no Hitler. He may be a greedy moron out to line the pockets of his cohorts, but he is definitely no evil genius.

to equate Bush to hitler is ridiculous and uneducated. A person that HONESTLY thinks they are the same, obviously never studied european history.
To not like the guy is one thing, to equate him to Hitler shows a persons stupidity.

Please see "godwin's law".

It's something like;

"the first person in an arguement to equate their opponent to Hitler (or the *****) automatically loses the arguement"

I can't stand Bush but he's not like Hitler. Hitler was insane, Bush is just dumb. There is a huge difference.

So, umm....back to the point at hand.

So none of you have a problem with Bush being driven around a group of protesters with his bodyguards pointing their rifiles out of the windows?

Are their pictures of this? Is their proof?

Does anyone really Bush has anysay in how his security detail acts? I am in the military and have pulled security while the president was visiting. Do you really think the president sat down with me and told me how to point my weapon?

People need to realize that the president is a spokesman for a country, he has advisors and professionals who make the decisions. He doesnt sit there all day and decided everything. How his security detail conducts business is the last of his worries.

There are pictures, and i will try to post them tomorrow as i am heading home now..

I am not sure how many of you are gun owners, but I am. One thing you NEVER do is point your firearm at ANYTHING unless you are ready and willing to destroy it. PERIOD. It is simply careless behavior by those in Bushs motorcade. That was the main point. The Hitler reference was an attention grabber, not a definitive statement.

so what is the point of this post then? It was to discredit Bush by comparing him to Hitler, and portraying him as a haphazard president.

But now the comparrision is an attention grabber, and you cant show blame of the way they handled the weapons on Bush. So it just goes to show how propaganda of the media and of certain personel can turn peoples views of a president sour based on deception of a true event.

Yes they aimed their weapons wrong. Yes they were near the president. No the president is not responsible. So again what is the purpose of this post, if not to falsly portray the presidents actions?

Simply to bring up the careless handling of firearms and stimulate some conversation, thats all. Dont take it so personal.

Ok after further reading the article, I see even less point of this article. Here is what they say

-------------
The weapon was not fully sticking out the window in a pointed position towards any of us. It was how ever raised up and the person holding it had right hand in trigger position it was in the direction of our group. It was indeed an assault rifle and the man in the car was dressed full swat.
----------

Ok So that means the weapon WAS not pointed at people. The guy has to carry the weapon some how and pointed in the air is the proper way to carry a weaopn. And a sniper would not be hangin out a car window.

Ohhh and SWAT does not provide security for the president.
So again what did the president do wrong?

Don't waste you time posting potoshopped junk. Those guys are far to well trained to point guns at random people. let's think about this.

Ahh I am not taking it personal. I am just playing to reverse role you were. I like debate, and you stirred a good pot of stew. But you choose a story that has alot of holes in it. I can post up a ton pf pictures of me holding weapons in the manner described. Weapon pointed up finer on trigger guard,.

Thank you!!

As far as stirring the pot. It can be fun, but it can also damage the image of someone. In this case the president. To many peopl have no clue about what really happens at presidential level and just take random articles as the gospel. Yet I think it is well proved that this article is crap.
But the average passing teenager would see the headline and chalk itup to another mistake by the president. The media does a great job at ruining the president. Not saying he is blameless, but articles like this are bad.

So yeah I agrea stirring a cold pot because you are bored isnt always coool, especially if now you dont want to explain your views on the topic.

(I love to debate and take nothing personal by the way)
