Bush is not insane, he's not smart, and he's not driven - his cohorts are even MOREso.

Please don't misconstrue these comments as admiring Hitler in any way or condoning his actions.

Not a one of you. If you don't like his politics, that is fine. I don't like everything he does, but, he has more intelligence than any of us here... He runs the greatest country in the world, all we do is run our mouths.

Hey, if my daddy was president and friends with the same folks, I could be president too. If my daddy had the influence his does, I could have gotten straight C's at Yale too. If my daddy was a multimillionare oil tycoon, I could have run a few businesses into the ground as well.

Well, we elected him... sort of. What does that say about America? Well if you look at the voter turnout of these last elections... we're generally apathetic.

 

No, we did elect him... pure and simple...and if you don't like the man or his politics, fight to change who gets elected, but most of us quit name calling in 3rd grade.......

It is a crying shame that people do not get out to do something as easy as vote.

Is Bush a Hitler?? Heck NO! Not even in the same ballpark.

However, I think the Neo-conservative movement is using a lot of the same tactics that the ***** used to gain control and influence. Control of media, creating masterful propaganda, creating and perpetuating fear, brute force or screaming (which appeals to the lowest common denominator) in the face of any voice of protest instead of using reason. etc.

Is that saying that Republicans are Neocons? Far from it! Neocons are simply the most extreme bastardization of that philosophy. There are quite a lot of great things about the Republican party as it was established and went on for years. I agree with A LOT of its traditional concepts. However, like in the Democratic party, there are extremist who's views work to undermine it. The Neocons, in part with the help of fundemental religious intrests and influences, slowly started to take control. Now that Neo-philosophy is prevalent in the way we are steering the country and its policies.

So, the president isn't Hitler by a long shot. Its a pretty big insult to say so I think. But I think that he is able to be influenced very easily by a lot of other people that don't have this country's best interest in mind. They finally got a yes man in the white house, and have taken complete advantage of it.

How does someone like this get elected? The powers that be continually throw 'hot button' issues up around election time. Things that seperate, and devide us as a nation and appeal to a 'moral majority'.. then once elected these things are dropped till the next go round. The REAL issues, or things that truly impact our country are NEVER touched upon because it usually involves someone whos hand is in the politician's pocket. The whole thing is sick and its everyone's fault for being sdo selfish, not seeing the big picture, and believing the ever revolving lie.

That's just it, our voter turnout is horrible. Think of how many elections would be different if a significant increase of voter turnout occured during these elections. I'm voting in November, are YOU?

 

See but we cant just have good turnout. We need to have educated turn out. To many people go with these get out the vote famous people and just vote what everyone else is. You cant vote for someone based on one thing you like. you have to vote on what is best for the country.

And uneducated vote is the deadliest vote there is.

 

This post nails it, IMO. I don't know "how" Bush got elected in 2000 but in 2004, it was same-sex marriage issues that stirred up the pot for many evangelical Christians and this issue has literally covered grim news of invasion of Iraq. It was such hot topic during election season and Faux News, CNN, CNBC and every other news media had the word "___" in every other sentences. Who talks about same-sex marriage now?

For 2006 midterm election, it will probably be illegal immigration issues that will cover Iraq mess...

For 2008.. who knows... but i am sure it will be some hot topic!!

You, personally, do not know how intelligent Bush is, nor do you know how intelligent anyone who reads this is, in reality. Making broad assumptions and generalizations doesn't prove or make a point. That is the truth.

The USA does not demand that their President have a genius-level IQ, but they do require that he make morally and ethically correct decisions.

 

Well we need a "Go out, get educated, and then vote!" campaign. lol

 

Technically we are a republic based on democratic ideals.

Remember that the Roman empire fell when it spread itself too thin and political apathy became rampant.

That apathy is very prevelant today. We are living in a "bread and circuses" society who thinks nothing they do can make a difference. These people also don't look to closely at history. If they did, they would realize that even in the face of multibillion dollar conglomerates, they can make a difference.

But most of us are too busy watching, arguing and voting over "american idol" to give a rats ****.

 

Or getting ____ed off at the Mexicans.

 

Like I said, w/o daddy Bush pulling the strings, Shrub is just another trust fund burn-out.
