Kimbo is a tough dude, but he's making the jump to MMA, which is a totally different animal than street boxing. And I call it street boxing, because of the silly no wrestling rules his people have. They can set rules because they show up with the most people. Here's a fight between Kimbo and Gannon. This time there's a bit of wrestling involved. Kimbo's people cry about it, but they are outnumbered, and Gannon wins.

Lastly, Kimbo won't have the weight mismatch in sanctioned events. And even though his power is awesome, his stand up needs work. Not that his movement isn't good, but he's telegraphing every punch he throws because of how he holds his hands.
Now, criticism aside... this man has all the tools to be one of the greatest. I'd like to see him get in with a good camp or trainer. If he trains a little and learns the groundwork... well, I'd buy the PPV.

i agree with you 13edge, about the mismatch thing in his street boxing. besides the gannon fight i only ever saw one maybe two other fights with him where he faced someone that could kick his butt. and that was against a ufc guy.

i saw his last televised fight (i think last week) - it lasted all of 18 seconds. the dude looked like he gave up, he seemed like a scared sissy when he got taken to the ground. kimbo's punch didn't even land that hard either - it was an odd fight. did anyone catch that last week? i think it was elite extreme fighting or something like that, some HD channel i get at home.

It's just matchmaking. It might have been Elite XC. In fact I think I remember reading about them signing him. They're a good group. Probably just put him out there for publicity against a mark, but I'd be willing to bet they have got him with the best trainers, so when he takes his first high profile fight it will be a good one.

he is with the fighting organization CFFC out of Florida and yeah he has some really good trainers. One of those being Bas Rutten, among others. he is definatly going to be a force in the MMA world, but i want to see him go up against another highley trained fighter.

i like when he was streetfighting dude in the backyard and kept yelling "hit me, hit me", he let the dude hit him, then he said "thats all you got? its over" and proceeded to knock dude out lol

hahaha, he is by far one of my favorite fighters to watch..... not the most technical fighter but a damn good puncher. I know no one in their right mind would start something with him in a bar, that is were he is the most comfortable
