No one here, that I know, has beaucoup money to spend on parts thsat they want right now. Modding is a constant evolution. They have other priorities in life such as their family, maybe a mortgage, and other things.

Do I care? No. Why? Because I paid for MY parts, I pay for MY car, and I drive MY car.

Spoiled rice!?! Do you know what spoiled rice looks like? Its covered in mold prolly. I haven't seen any cars on this site covered in mold.

I just love it when others criticize, yet they don't post on pics of their rides, and what they consider tasteful.

Once again, Styling is an individual preference!
I dont think anyone in here is being as critical as you are. You just stated what everyone else stated, opinions. Your the one coming into a thread thats talking about personal opinions and then you start bashing on those opinions.
I think it's cool if someone wants to change out the grills for something differant, however I wont because every single grill replacement out there looks like a domestic truck grill IMO. I like the lower stock grills, I think it would be cooler if the top grill between the headlights matched the botton two, but I've yet to see an aftermarket grill that matches.
One thing I dont agree is with that stupid comment about spoiled rice, what the heck is that suppose to mean? But than again I dont agree with the term 'rice'. My Brother has a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon with a wide body kit (yes its painted) and 19in. ADR wheels, and I dont think thats rice, but for some reason all of those anti-rice websites classify it as rice. The only thing I consider rice is an unpainted body kit, a spoiler that shouldnt be on the car (hmm, i dont think the xB needs a spoiler at all...), a ___ body kit (honestly, i've yet to see a body kit on the xB that doesnt look ___), any kind of aftermarket air scoop intake that is non functional.
What makes all of these tuned xB's any differant from a 'riced' Civic? I think people should stop using the term 'rice' because it makes them sound like an idiot. Rice is food, not a screwed up car.
When it comes to lowering the car, IMO dropping it all the way to the ground looks rediculous. I do believe you need a speck of clearence from the tire to the wheel well. I plan on getting a lower suspension, but nothing insane.
If you think its cool to use the term rice, dont think your exempt from it beacuse you own a scion, because believe it or not, scions will be in those ___ antirice websites sooner or later.
I think a top grill that looked like the bottom grills would look terrible.... Rice means exactly what you said, including cheap stickers, painted on sunroofs. When you say that you have yet to see a body kit that doesnt look dumb on the xB, have you looked around recently, and are you including lip kits?

Wow, this is a productive thread.

Since is more about aesthetics than handling, refers to other cars and is pointless anyway since it's not like someone is going to "see the light", I'm moving this to Off-Topic...

Oh yeah, and I really like the grille I bought, painted, and installed on MY LOWERED xB!
im not an xb fan, i would never buy one.......but this one is baddass.
i think the majority of the Xb's that ive seen locally look like crap. Im a true beliver if your going to mod a car, do it right or dont do it at all. I think people who dont lower their car is fine, but it looks so much better without a wheel gap, you talking to a guy thought that has always had body dropped bagged chevy's.....

well love it hate it its your opinion, there is really no use explaining that lowering the car enhances handling and not performance, there is really no need to say verbadum that how you mod your car is your own personal preferance, your money, your car, your imagination, so but oops o well looks like i did explain all those things again, well to each his/her own and to me a loss of 1 minute of my life

The people stating that customization is a matter of taste are the ones saying it best. When it comes to matter of "style" I do my best to hold my tongue. Unless it is something absolutely ridiculous. But in the way of choosing to customize using one particular style over another? Forget it. It's just not worth the time and effort.

Everyone has their own taste, and who am I or anyone else to judge them on their taste. What we should do is learn to appreciate the work that goes into the customization, even if we can't consider the work it's self. To be perfectly honest, there hasn't been one xB on this site that I have liked every single modification on. Not one! And there are others that I struggle to find even one modification that I can appreciate aesthetically. But you have to appreciate the effort.

There is no reason to be critical of others on issues that are clearly aesthetic. Performance and safety issues are different. People should speak up in those matters, as they are much more critical to a vehicles drivability and even survivability.

So you don't like lowered cars, your point would be to establish???

Don't lower your xb and move on, i as well others i'm sure don't care what you think. Its our cars, not yours. Think the same way and don't let things bother you.

FYI: Lowering an xb with stiff springs or coilovers improve performance, some believe improve the look (i am one that does), and overall serves as a functional part. Not part of this "rice" theory you are talking about.

Debadging is popular to clean up the appearance of the car. Moving on.

Stock grills look fine without the big, bulky scion emblem IMO. If you like it, rock it. If not, swap it.

This thread might as well be locked because i honestly don't see how this is going to be very useful for newbies to gather information, much less serve any perpose at all except a bunch of people saying they like their lowered xb's. and others saying they don't.

I'm not sorry, but they don't; the charm of the vehicle isn't completely ruined...also, I've seen custom grills that look better than the stock grill, yet, it seems people just wait to take that stock grill off...and removing the badges, WHY NOT??

I've seen many good mods on here, but I've yet to see things that defy aesthetical sense.

Well, I guess teh hotness is a sure way to make your car stand out.

THERE, I'VE CANCELLED HER OUT!!!!

It's true, the xB is ugly when lowered. When a car comes from the factory it is completely optimized and engineered to perfection. Once you start changing it, it looses something.
Why would anyone want to have trouble getting over speed bumps and pot holes. Just leave your car alone and drive it the way it is.

Lowering the xB doesnt remove the car's "charm". This isnt a VW Beetle! I mean....does this look SO BAD. (I personally think it looks like sex on wheels, for lack of better words).

Lilly (notty) is right. Yes she is.

Lowered xBs are wrong, just plain wrong I tell you.
