Two inputs.
1) Her parents have a yatch and you haven't sealed the deal yet? What the F is wrong with you!? Don't like money or something?
2) There will come a time when you screw up royally and will need a hail mary. A "works every time" ploy is to take her to where you proposed and say your sorry and that this was the best moment of your life, you love her, puke , etc. So ask as close to where you live as possible. It is much harder to get to hawaii than it is SF. I recomend peoposing when you get back.

i would say on the beach in hawaii after a really nice dinner. and if you can when you get there (or even now ).have the hotlel make up a table on the beach with some champange mabey some chocolate covered strawberrys or somthing that is grown in hawaii let her have a few glasses of bubbly while you feed her some sweet fruit then maybe a walk on the beach chatting about how nice it is to have met her and things like that, maybe walk out into the surf a little and get on one knee and propose to her (not too far out though)

I learned in law class that it is a VERY bad idea to propose on a holiday or a birthday, because then the ring becomes a gift, and if anything goes wrong down the line. (GOD FORBID!!) Then you wouldn't get the ring back. But to some people it doesn't matter either way, just throwing that out there.
Good luck to you!

^^Word!!!! Bday and holidays are so cliche. I like dibbz and schwetty, but I won't talk about how great it is to be with her -- if you want it to be a surprise. That's how the movies do it, so you can here it coming. Just my opinion though, and I'm curious as to how this is going to go down.

I'd say do it on the yacht. Wake her up early one morning as the sun is rising and tell her you want to watch the sunrise. Start up a casual conversation about how much you enjoy being with her, get down on one knee and BAM, pop the question. I'd say do it the morning of the last day on the yacht, so Hawaii can be more of a celebration.
For what it's worth, even though you sound like you already have don't care what everyone else said, don't listen to them about you being too young. I'm 23 and getting married in October. And it sounds like your girl's parents are loaded because getting married is a boat load more expensive than I orginally expected. I could have paid cash for me tC with how much this is costing me, even with having help from both sides of the family and having a small wedding.

Update!
I did it! On June 1st, which happens to be my girl's b-day, I proposed. I did it at Scott's Restaurant on one of the piers in Oakland. My girl wants to be a mortician (don't comment please) and so I thought it was only appropriate to put the ring on a bloody, rubber finger and put that in a coffin. I then wrapped it up and gave it to her as a b-day present. It was perfect! Here's the pics. Thanks everyone for your input and sorry it took so long to get the update on here.

That's awesome. That was a great way to do it too. You totally made it about her too, with the finger and coffin thing too. She's very pretty (but I'm sure you know that). LOL.
Side note -- immature guys from this forum will comment on her, so hope your ready.
Oh and I love the ring, is that garnet--the stone, the red one??
