Default Mod Busters = Myth Busters

What mods have u done to your Scions that ended up being BUSTED (disappointing or pure pocket burners) the 1s with more pros than cons don't count. (I know someone will try)

And the survey says?.......................................

CF interior door appliques. The buckled in the middle as soon as it got cold outside and then they lifted at the back. Finally, the driver's door one buckled so hard that it broke around the door handle! POS!

stickers. i was so excited to get my box i put a couple of stickers...borla...injen...i was just excited those were my first ever exhaust & intake ever added to a car i own

i ended up removing them. only stickers ive got now is a Strup sticker tucked just below the rear windowshield wiper and also a small dark injen sticker on the left side the rear bumper...keeping it simple now

borla exhaust. very very nice exhaust, love the sound....BUT i wish i had not had it installed as part of an option....its 499.00 from the dealer....YEAH OUCH, i wish i had just gotten one after market

This is a great thread, let's keep it up. Be honest, people ;)

DC header: Played with it for almost 2 weeks. The car stunk (no cat, duh). Was noisy, did not seem to pull any better.

K&N CAI: About a week with it. Loud as crap, car seemed slower than before. Packed and sold.

17x8.5 5zigen ProRacer GN+ a $1200 mistake. 5zigen conveniently forgot to mention the weight of these wheels on their site, so anyone who jumps on these "race-inspired" wheels will realize that they just got hosed. You get a 21lbs rim for $300. What a friggin deal. Never again. 5zigen obviously never responded to my email comments.

TRD muffler: This thing I still have and might stick to. It gets annoying after couple of weeks, but sometimes is fun, so whenever I feel like it, the car gets lifted and the muffler goes in. 90% of the time it sits in the garage, neatly boxed up. Good thing I only paid $175 for it.

That's it so far.

I got carbon fiber dash 'applicae'.... different than the one on the webpage... it was special through the dealer... I was LED to believe that it was NEW TRIM piecees made of carbon fiber... I didn't really pay attention to it till a while after I got it. The corner of the piece on the little door under the head unit started to come up... I ended up taking all of it off.

that wheel is kinda wide, and for me 21lbs is not bad at all for an 8.5 inch wide wheel.

thats like what the stockers weigh and their like 7 or 7.5 inch wide, and the stockers are already forged and fairly light as it is

got HKS exhaust, quiet at first and now after 15,000 miles it is loud as all heck breaking loose above 30mph! But it did give me a noticeable bump in power according to the super efficient buttdyno! Highway power feels much better, but most of the time the noise just isnt worth it.
