Moved 'cause it didn't belong...
This was a response to a post in another thread dealing with getting up early...
It didn't really belong in the other thread and took it off-topic.

AWESOME! It's one of the things you guys have out there that we don't. . . I have access to JDM stuff galore and an endless supply of 2JZ motors (this is the country where they swap it into everything, including M3's and other blasphemous mismatches), but I can't even legally carry a 3-inch non-assisted folding knife here. . . the only (legal) self defense weapons are flashlights.

Man, that looks like it would be perfect for an everyday carry. How reliable is it? I don't have a TON of experience, but I've shot quite a few Berettas and Glocks, and the berettas always jam or don't fire. . . Walthers are common out here, but I haven't run across many Tauruses (Taurii?).

It's the Glock design with the addition of a manual safety, and made very thin (single stack magazine rather than double).
So far it has delivered a suitably loud noise every time I have pulled the trigger, without fail.
Field reports have pegged this model as being one of their good ones.
As to daily carry, that's exactly what this one is. It replaced my trusty S&W 908 because it was smaller and much lighter. It's an easy carry.

Hey Tomas, long time no talk...lol
Listen i was thinking of getting a hand gun. Im more of a rifle kinda guy (owned magtec 22cal, china made sks, well and a mossberg 410 shotgun) but iv sold off everything but the 22. Iv got a little 5 year old so i gotta figure out the best way to keep a gun handy but keep my little girl safe. Iv introduced my little girl to the 22 and had a long talk about not touching it. Thing is i can trust her with the 22 cause i dont keep it loaded, it sits on the top shelf of my closet, and i keep the clip in the sock drawer without ammo. hell i dont even have ammo for it...lol
in short whats your 2cents on a decent home defense gun and keeping it out of the hands of my little girl?

Has been quite a while, Chris.
Even though I've 'carried' for 40 years, I don't consider myself an expert. There are lots of sites on-line that cover things such as what you asked, and I wouldn't even make any suggestions.
Sorry!
Tom

yeah i looked around, there is alot of conflicting answers to the problem. some say revolver others say semi-auto. some say carry on your side pretty much 24/7, some say keep it in your room and keep the room locked at all times. it kinda goes on and on. screw it ill just get a tazer...lmao...is it even legal to own a tazer like the police have?

Tasers are legal in some places, not in others, depends on local and state laws.
Those that require direct contact (you press it against the other person) are not a valid self defense product IMHO, as they require you to close with the "bad guy" and therefore put you in danger.
Only devices that allow you to "act at a distance" to protect yourself and others are reasonable for self defense.
If some guy is wielding a knife or swinging a stick or even just trying to smack you in the face with his fist, trying to get close enough to actually touch him with a hand-held unit isn't really the smartest move...
Again, I'm no expert, and don't pretend to be...
