Nissan Skyline - have spotted 3 of them in the past week...
I am aware that the Nissan Skyline & the Infinity G35 are the same car, however the Skyline is not marketed here in the United States. In the last week I have seen 3 different Skylines, all the current generation G35 body style. All 3 were different cars seen in different areas, 2 in the LA area and one on the 91 freeway in Riverside last night.
I have looked for it on the internet and have not found anything. I am wondering if anyone has spotted these cars anywhere else. Are they being brought in from Canada, are they being bagged here on Infinity G35s (why I have no idea) or what. I am very curious.

there are a few running around in my area that are just rebadged.
If they are left hand drive, its just a g35 with nissan and skyline badges (can be bought online), and if its a right hand drive, it could and might just be the real thing.

During my search on the internet I noticed that you can purchase the badging on Ebay, the one I saw last night even had the grill replaced on it. I kind of thought that this was what they had done. I folllow cars pretty closely, especially sports coupes and was very surprised when they started popping up and I had not seen anything in the way of marketing or articles in print or on the net.
The windows were tinted so dark last night I couldn't tell if it was right hand drive, but Canada has all lefties... wonder which it is, rebadged or a Canadian import???
If they are rebadged it must be the new "in" thing for the G35 owners, I know the Skyline is sort of an icon but I have to ask, WHY???
Anyone else out there spotted these cars?

i would if i had a g35 personally. lol. skylines are i think one of the most beatiful machines out there, (power, suspension, looks, you name it.. ) thats why many people who know of the g35s would want to change the badges over. ive heard some people import them (skylines) canada from japan, so essentially it should still be right hand drive. i have yet to hear anything about nissan keeping the skyline a skyline in canada yet, thus being a left hand drive, but i could be wrong.
but personally id think it would be too much work and an effort to get a skyline r35 down to america.. but it does seem feasible to buy a g35 down here and replace the badges

I feel a little better now, I have been busy but not that busy and thought I had really missed the boat on something huge.
I have to admit, I liked the rebadging on the car, it got my attention that is for sure, even my husband wanted to know and nothing phases him, he has been in the auto body repair business for so long they are all "just another car" to him. I am happy to say that I have changed that a bit with the purchase of the Scions.
Anyone got any other spottings?

No different than Toyota/bB/ist badging on Scions. . . not a big deal.
Now if they were rebadging G35's as Skyline GT-R's, that'd be disgusting. Think of it as the difference between a regular old late 60's Mustang and a Mustang GT500. Too many people throw around the Skyline name, and they don't even know what it means. . . or that there is a HUGE difference between a base Skyline and a GT-R. . .
. . . or take the REGULAR old POS Mitsubishi Lancer and a Lancer EVO IX.

Well judging by what I was able to find on the net since this post yesterday, those of you who want one (and have the funds) may not have very long to wait... 2008.

there is a guy here in columbia with a dark blue one. has larger wheels and a bigger than stock brembo brake kit. a fairly stout intercooler up front, wide body kit, skyline badging all around, and a turbo the size of my head! car sounds crazy rolling down the road. all in all i wouldn't be okay with it but this guy isn't just bs'ing with a bunch of badges
