Default No on 8

I am disappointed to see that this website offers up a Yes on 8 ad, although that is of course their right to do as a site and I am sure they made decent money.

It is the right of the business to choose legal options that make them money.

It is the right of those owners and others in support of the campaign to make their opinions heard.

It is their right as well, to the pursuit of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Isn't America great that we have all these rights? Seems a shame that some folks out their are so scared of something that they feel the need to take others' rights away.

Look, I understand that people have religious views (again, yet ANOTHER right we take for granted in this country!) and I am not going to change anyone's thoughts on what their god does or does not approve of. What I don't understand is how someone else doing something you find morally offensive is hurting you. So homosexuality is a sin in your eyes? Then have the FAITH in yourself not to take part in it and to teach your kids what you believe. Say you don't think it is a sin- maybe you just think it is waaaay different from what you want/like. No problem - but I fail to see how someone else engaging in it is hurting you. Just because someone in a relationship with the same sex has a piece of paper saying they are married doesn't diminish the meaning of my own marriage license. Just like all the wife-beaters and/or adulterers out there with a marriage license don't decrease its value.

I say we keep as many rights out there for as many people as possible. We are losing them at an alarming rate these days as it is.

Just download ad-block plus. It'll make you happier. Nobody wants to go to a car forum and be bombarded with political ads.

I can't see Prop 8 succeeding anyway.

Wow, that's disgusting. I haven't seen it, I have ad-block.

Hopefully it turns the stomachs of those in charge of ads here and they look into a different ad service. They deserve to lose business for putting such filth into the mix of their ads.

What ever happened to separation between church & state? Are we going back to separate drinking fountains too? Stop discrimination!

I haven't seen this ad, thankfully. LOL. I guess it's a wonderful thing that I live in effin Texas where we will never have to worry banning same-sex marriage since it will never get the chance to be legal. -_- I'm moving to Spain or Sweden when I get the chance! Graduation here I come!!!

Last time I checked, it looked like the vote was going for discrimination.

Sad.

2:37am and it's close.. with discrimination in the lead with 51.8%.. :?

with 13.8% of the precincts still yet to report in..

this will be a really large setback in civil rights... how pathetic and sad...

i can't believe it's gonna pass... wtf is wrong with those conservative freaks voting yes?

sanctity of marriage.. blah blah.. that thing got screwed up when divorces came around..

you can ruin the definition of marriage because two people don't love each other anymore (i.e. divorce).. blah blah... yet you prevent two people who really do care about each other the right to do so??

WTF!?!

Yeah seriously i mean does it really matter and who are they to tell someone that they cant do what they want i mean comon if they want to get married let them the fantasy of a good marriage got ruined along time ago. And marriage doesnt really have to be man and woman ive heard some ppl in skool say "im not relating it to religion but its suppose to be man and woman" It still goes back to religion where does it say outside of religion where only woman and man can get married i just think its sad.

I hate how "the sanctity of marriage" is at stake considering that you can get married for 55 hours and then divorce. I also think it's great that you can beat your wife, take half of someone's money that is really old, etc. I love how sacred marriage is. (feel the sarcasm?) Plus, heck, at least allow civil unions or a non-religious marriage! That would shut everyone up. Whatever. It makes me angry because if this passes in Cali then all the other states ever are going to try it as well. That's what happens. And if it can pass in cali where else will it pass!? *bites nails*
