Default OMFG!!!!!!!!

I had a very nice Gran Turismo file. Had a Viper capable of doing 300. An Impreza that was a Beast around corners. A crazy R8. I had 75+% of the game done. Most of the Endurance Races done except for one of the Circuit de Sarthe 24h. A lot of work went into that file. At least a years worth of work. So today I decide to build a nice quick Integra. Turn on my PS2. "Gran Turismo Could not load currupt file". I clean the memory card, the slot, everything no worky. I tried another memory card. same deal. I try to load the card from the car selection screen in 2P mode. same deal. Right now I'm so angry. All that work gone. Sorry. Had to rant.

gran turismo....what this post is about...lol

and about that "real gamers have a hard drive" comment...a hard drive is only so useful until you get that flashing red light of doom and then Microsoft wants to charge you $140 dollars and make you wait over 6 weeks to get it repaired/replaced.

but I do love my 360!! lol

you do know that less than 3% of systems had to be fixed right?

that is well below normal system failure rate at launch.

it "seems" like alot, because the news in this country is so retarded, that they make a broken xbox on launch day a headliner story. lol..

u guys wanna turn this into a ps3 vs. xbox360 thread create a new post. but i gotta say ps is just not as good when it comes to online play, and on games they are becoming rather equal, even developers notice this (cough assasians creed cough).

did you try putting your memory card in a different PS2? It could be the ps2 and not your memory card. Probably wishfull thinking, but worth a shot.

You know I wouldn't be surprised if it is my PS2. It won't play GTA SA anymore. It used to make this annoying noise and wouldn't load disks unless u hit it over the top hard enough. It stopped doing that so Now the memory thing is prolly dead. I'll try another PS2.

Speaking of game systems crapping out…..

My sister bought one of those “slim” PS2s. She was playing Guitar Hero (retarded if you ask me) and it kept on skipping on her. She tried it on mine and it worked just fine. She tried taking it back and told them what happened and this a**hole kid at WalFart wouldn’t let her exchange it because “her game must be scratched”, she ended up coming home crying because she didn’t know what to do. I brought her back and talked to this kid. Ended up getting in a rather heated discussion with the manager and got an exchange. A month later it crapped out again and wouldn’t play any CDs. I brought that one back for a full refund (had to have another “discussion” with the manager again). I just gave her mine, which has worked since PS2 came out, since I was moving and couldn’t help her deal with inferior products and customer service.

Woahhhhhhhh! Do you have the "slim" version PS2? My neighbors' kids had that exact same problem with that game. I'm thinking these "new" PS2s are P.O.S.

Nope. I got the original. I tried fixing it, opened her up and played around with a few things. The problem isn't as as common anymore but it's still there. There's also a little rattle in there every time I hit it it tho, probably a screw that was lose and fell out or somtin, oh well. I was going to exchange it for a slim one a while ago but I figured it wasn't worth it. I think it has something to do with the little magnet that holds the disk up. First copy of GTA I had my PS2 would scratch the sht out of. I brought it into Gamestop, luckily i had bough a warranty on the game. They guy at gamestop said that the thing that holds the disk up and spins it is crapping out which is why the disk was getting scratched. Few months later. Wouldn't play the game anymore no matter what copy of GTA SA I put in. A lot of people have had problems with GTA SA. Something about the disk being heavier then most other game disks.
